Empowering women via skycable's vanity fair

Vanity is not exactly a grave sin, especially if you look at it as a step to boosting confidence. In fact, during the recent SkyCable event aptly dubbed “Vanity Fair” held at A. Venue in Makati City, modern and assertive women proved that being vain can be therapeutic. “Vanity Fair” gathered together some of the country’s prominent names in cosmetics, health products and treatments, and fragrance.

Lucky SkyCable subscribers and their friends who got exclusive invites for the event wasted no time availing of free makeovers from beauty experts. Marga Uy Bayla, director of the Center for Aesthetic Studies and the ISDANCO Foundation and one of the speakers in the event observed, “There is no excuse not to look good these days. People initially judge us based on our appearance. It is therefore very important to always look your best. SkyCable’s Vanity Fair was an event that empowers women and helps them gain confidence.”

The other speakers in the event included Andrew Wilkinson, consultant for Creative Nail Spa who spoke about the latest innovations in nail care; and Jeannie Goldbourne who tackled beauty and wellness. Renowned brand The Body Shop conducted a makeup demonstration while Shiseido conducted an intimate workshop on makeup artistry.

“This event [was] a perfect day for mothers, daughters and girlfriends to bond,” remarked Carla Villanueva-Manas, Airtime sales director. “It’s our way of showing our gratitude to our loyal subscribers and at the same time give women the opportunity to look their best.” With another successful event under its belt, SkyCable looks forward to bringing more life-changing activities to reward its growing subscription base.
