With Cristy Fermin serving a suspension until the end of the year, the talk is that not only is ABS-CBN getting Kris Aquino back as its host, the network is also considering on moving the show to Saturday, putting it squarely against GMA-7’s big rater, Star Talk. The match-up would prove to be interesting. Right now celebrities get to guest in Star Talk and speak their piece on an issue. Denials and rebuttals on the same controversy are aired on The Buzz. If the two shows are simultaneously aired, the celebs would have to choose between the two.
Kris’ return could also bring up questions about her chemistry with Ruffa Gutierrez. Kris wouldn’t relish the idea of getting upstaged, and Ruffa is the kind of host who loves the spotlight. So expect the fur the fly, people!

Talking about talk-show hosts, David Letterman showed why he is top-notch in the US. In his Late Night Show last week, he put Republican presidential candidate John McCain on the hot seat. McCain had now shown up several nights earlier, with his camp giving Letterman notice that he couldn’t make it 90 minutes before the show was to air. You don’t – repeat, don’t – leave David Letterman hanging, not even if you’re going to be the next president of the United States. Letterman got even more peeved after learning that McCain had lied about his schedule in New York to avoid getting on the Late Night Show.
So when the candidate finally showed up, Letterman’s first question to him was, what happened? McCain’s answer? “I screwed up!” That was all he could say. Only Letterman could put such a powerful political figure through the wringer like that.

In their own shows, they unleashed venom at each other. But at the Super Extreme Awards last week, Joey de Leon and Willie Revillame did not only act as if they were long-lost friends; they even kissed on the lips.
It was the first time the two talents from rival networks had crossed each other’s paths. For so long they had been like two schoolboys fighting over some petty issue. At times their spat had turned nasty.
But last week, Joey and Willie said all that trash talk was just for show. Willie said he looked at the Eat Bulaga mainstay as a TV “icon;” Joey retorted by ribbing the Wowowee host, “penge pera!” (give me money!).

Madonna and Guy Ritchie are splitting, after 7 and-a-half years of marriage.
The two announced plans to divorce last week, despite denials just weeks earlier that they were separating.
A joint statement issued by both their camps said a final statement “has not been agreed upon yet.”
The first serious signs of trouble surfaced in August after the buzz spread that the 50-year-old Material Girl had a romantic fling with baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez of the New York Yankees that led to the break-up of his own marriage.
Madonna and Guy’s last sighting as a couple was in London in September when she attended the premiere of his film, Rocknrolla. Soon after, London tabloids went to town with stories that the two were constantly fighting, and that Guy had told his parents that he wanted out.
The 40-year-old film director won’t be walking away empty-handed. Estimates are that he could earn a $100 windfall from the divorce. That’s because he had no prenuptial agreement with the pop diva, who worth at least $500 million.
Madonna and Guy had a child, Roco, 8, and adopted another, David, 3, two years ago.
Madonna had a daughter, now 12, with former dancer Carlos Leon. Her previous marriage to Sean Penn in 1985 lasted four years.
