Nievera sings all OPM, all love songs in "Ikaw Ang Pangarap" album
After releasing his 25th Anniversary album called Milestones in 2007, concert king Martin Nievera is back with a brand new disc—another collection to mark a milestone of performing OPM love songs. Presented by EMI Philippines, the album is entitled IKAW ANG PANGARAP with carrier single “Ikaw Ang Pangarap.”
The carrier single in this first-ever all-Tagalog collection of his served as the theme song of ABS-CBN’s recently-concluded telenovela titled “Lobo” that starred Piolo Pascual and Angel Locsin. “Ikaw Ang Pangarap” was also produced by Star Records.
Song after song in the album—all OPM hits of his through the years—features great new arrangements. Spanning a decade of top-notch albums and collaborations with renowned OPM songwriters and arrangers of all time, this album boasts masterpieces from Ogie Alcasid, Louie Ocampo, Vehnee Saturno, Willy Cruz, Joey Albert and George Canseco. Other ABS-CBN TV series themes in the album that Nievera popularized include Lastikman’s “Maging Ano Pa Man Para Sa ‘Yo” and Vietnam Rose’s “Magpahanggang Wakas.”
This compilation also features movie themes like “Kahit Isang Saglit,” “Kailangan Kita,” and “May Minahal” with Nievera highlighting the songs that truly inspired him. Other tracks include other important titles that make “Ikaw Ang Pangarap” a great collection indeed for any fan of the accomplished musician.
As a testament to his musical brilliance, Martin Nievera marked another milestone of his career and released a two-disc CD titled Milestones in September 2007 and now nearing its double Platinum status. It contains 25 memorable tracks that have touched Martin Nievera’s life and will surely leave a mark to his fans.
