Top comedian-host Joey de Leon is going to write for The Philippine Star beginning this Sunday, August 17. Showing off his brand of humor, he comes up with the column title, Me, STARzan.
According to his good friend and StarTalk co-host, Lolit Solis, in her column for Pilipino Star Ngayon, it was the “Eat Bulaga” host who coined the catchy title of his weekly column in connection with the number one broadsheet in the country as well as with his famous, cheeky movie role in the past.
Solis wrote: “Dahil may kolum na siya sa Philippine Star, mas marami ang mga makababasa sa mga isusulat ni Papa Joey. Nagkaroon ng mas maganda at bonggang kapalit ang pag-alis niya sa broadsheet na kanyang pinanggalingan. Iba talaga ang nagagawa ng pagkakaroon ng prinsipyo at wastong paninindigan.”
Joey de Leon resigned from being an entertainment columnist for another broadsheet after a columnist in the sister tabloid of the said daily alleged that the recent “Eat Bulaga” show in Los Angeles was a flop. In last Saturday’s StarTalk, De Leon said he has since forgiven the columnist.
