After a Bb. Pilipinas stint, Karla Paula Henry brings again the city of Cebu to this nation’s most cause-oriented beauty pageant. An environmental advocate herself, she’s a hundred-percent bent on becoming the first Cebuana to win the most coveted title of Miss Philippines Earth.

It’s not been too long since Karla Paula Henry was last seen on the boobtube competing for a Binibining Pilipinas crown, which might have been misplaced on someone else’s head. We’re going to see her again and this time, as one of the 40-plus hopefuls for Miss Philippines-Earth 2008.

This top AD MODEL FEMME is no stranger to beauty pageants, having won a streak of titles including Miss Tri-Media (representing The Freeman Newspaper), Miss PagCor, Miss Mandaue (2nd runner-up), Miss Cebu (2nd runner-up), Miss Hawaiian Tropics (top 10 finalist).

After placing second to Miss FTV Philippines two summers ago, there’s no stopping this half-Canadian beauty from catwalking in virtually all the fashion scenes in town, not to mention beaming in quite a number of corporate print-ads here and there as well as appearing in billboard ads in Cebu and Manila. Karla’s chameleon-like presence makes her many a top photographer’s favorite as well.

Well, as they say: Once a beauty queen, always a beauty queen. Thus the Bb. Pilipinas 2008. She was the only one among the three Cebuanas who screened in the Metropolis who made it as an official candidate (and was touted as early favorite) to what seemed as the most controversial Bb. Pilipinas year.

Karla, 22, brings again the city of Cebu to this nation’s most cause-oriented beauty pageant with its equally beautiful goal: To help save Mother Earth. She is an environmental advocate herself, which is why she’s a hundred-percent bent on becoming the first Cebuana to win the most coveted title of Miss Philippines Earth. With a heart to make a difference in the current state of our planet, she hopes to use the title as a platform for her to inspire others to care for and love Mother Nature.

A few years back AD MODEL FEMME aces Natalie Tarin was Ms. Earth Fire while Jennifer Lee Novo made it to the top six finalists.

Let’s root for our fellow Cebuana come May 11, 2008 (Sunday, 9:00PM) on ABS-CBN. With Karla’s wit and personal crusade, who else is going to be the one with a worthier cause? After all, Miss Philippines-Earth pageant is always known for choosing the beauty worth her salt.
