Toto To Rock Cebu April 2

TOTO, one of the biggest selling rock groups of the 80's, is set to rock Cebu tomorrow, Wednesday, April 2.

The band has released 17 albums and has sold over 30 million records.

Described by Eddie van Halen as "collectively the best musicians on the planet", TOTO is known for its technical prowess in the studio, as well as a musical style that combines elements of pop, rock, soul, funk, R&B, hard rock and jazz.

TOTO was adopted as the group's name after this was written by former member Jeff Porcaro on their first demo tapes to distinguish them from the other bands in the recording studio. After completion of their first album, the band and record were still as of yet unnamed. Another founding member David Hungate, after viewing the name on the demo tapes, explained to the group that the word "Toto" in Latin translated to "all-encompassing". Because the band members had played on so many different records and many different musical genres, thus the name TOTO for the group.

Brisk ticket sales indicate there are many Cebu rock fans looking forward to watching the Grammy award winning American rock band perform live on stage their hit songs including Rosanna, Africa, 99, Hold the Line, Pamela, Stop Loving You, I'll be Over You, Hydra, Georgy Porgy and many more.

Showtime is at 8pm at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel. Ticket patrons are advised that digicams and recording devices are not permitted inside the ballroom.
