Valerie Concepcion talks about family, hosting career and love life
Judy Ann Santos is starring in “Ploning,” Panoramanila’s maiden project, scheduled to release locally and internationally in April.

Panoramanila Pictures Co. has certainly chosen a good material for its maiden project, and perhaps it’s a sign of good things to come. Composed of young Filipino filmmakers from both independent and commercial cinema, Panoramanila aims to change the film industry by fusing independent cinema spirit with commercial filmmaking sensibilities.
”For this maiden project, Panoramanila intends to portray a more beautiful and scenic
The new company is committed in producing feature films that are values laden, culturally rich, well acted, fully marketed, and business driven. The dip in mainstream film productions in the late nineties to the present has led to the renaissance of independently produced local films. Ready access to more affordable video and new media technologies has enabled more indie films in digital format to make it to international film festivals. However, Panoramanila observes that most of these films have no sound business plan and filmmakers often have to scavenge for funds for their next projects.
“Panoramanila is set on changing this by developing an equity-sharing scheme among its cast and key production staff and raising funds through investors, who are mostly private individuals. When the film earns, the investors also reap profit based on the shares allotted to them. For now, Ms. Santos and our key production staff are enjoying this kind of arrangement,” said Sebastian. Shot with live sound and in the traditional 35mm film format, “Ploning” opens in cinemas on April 30.

Valerie Concepcion denied she’s playing sweet music with Wowowee co-host Willie Revillame. But it seems that no matter how many times she has denied the issue, it keeps on resurfacing. No one seems to believe that there’s nothing going on between her and Willie.
“It’s sad if you don’t have a lovelife,” said Val at her launching presscon as endorser of the Slenda food supplement. But this doesn’t mean that she’s insinuating or sending feelers to Willie or any guy out there to court her.
“Hindi naman siya (Willie) nagpaparamdam. Hindi talaga. May mga nali-link rin na iba sa kanya. Kahit na sinasabi ko na parang malakas ako kay Papi, hindi naman ibig sabihin
She said they treat each other as family on the set of the noontime game show. In fact, during Willie’s birthday, all the girl co-hosts of “Wowowee” gave him a birthday blowout.
Val conceded that her work as a TV host is really stressful, not to mention demanding. Plus there’s also her off-cam role as family breadwinner.
Since she discovered the benefits of natural food supplements, she had been taking Slenda every day for sometime now. Maybe this is the reason, Val said, behind her slender figure.
