New Year, new shows and channel assignments on SkyCable

SkyCable welcomes the New Year with strengthened programming which loyal subscribers can enjoy to the fullest beginning January 1, 2008. With these highly entertaining cable programs, viewers are assured of the best mix of channels and shows that cater to their varied viewing pleasure.

Discriminating women who crave for total entertainment can catch Velvet on Channel 53. It’s packed with all new programs such as the controversial talk show “The View,” “E! News Weekend,” “Good Morning America,” and must-see drama series including “Dirt,” and “Huff.” Lifestyle Network, the authority on fashion and the good life will be moving to its new home on Channel 52, while other general entertainment channels ETC and 2nd Avenue move to free-to-air television networks SBN (Channel 16) and RJ TV (Channel 19) respectively.

Mystery and suspense series fans will surely enjoy AXN Beyond on Channel 35, a spin-off of the highly popular action-adventure channel AXN, and which will feature pumped-up supernatural programming such as cult favorites “Lost” and “Supernatural” as well as new shows like “Painkiller Jane” and “The Dresden Files.” FoxCrime, another new SkyCable channel, will be seen on Channel 50 where viewers will be treated to the Asian premiere of highly-anticipated shows such as “Dexter,” “Brotherhood,” and “Masterminds.” Catch more spine-chilling and action-packed shows on Crime/Suspense as it moves to its new home on RPN (Channel 14). What’s more, NBA fans will continue to enjoy two regular weekly games on ESPN (Channel 31) and Star Sports (Channel 32), plus an additional 4 regular weekly games on ABC-5 (Channel 10).  WWE fans can also catch Smackdown and Raw on ABC-5.

Adrenaline-fuelled programs are in store in Balls on Channel 34 and Maxxx on Channel 51. Balls, a new sports channel, showcases a comprehensive mix of sporting events and tournaments as well as sports magazine shows including the best extreme sports, while Maxxx forays into the mind of today’s modern men with shows that spell action, pleasure and one-of-a-kind entertainment. With shows like “Destination Truth,” “Bullrun,” and “American Inventor,” Maxxx will definitely delight mature male audiences.

The tiny tots are also in SkyCable’s list of valuable viewers with the premiere of KidsCo on Channel 38 (available to Gold subscribers only). This new kids channel from Hallmark has a lot to offer to children of all ages with the latest seasons of well-loved cartoon shows like “Madeline” and “Rolie Polie Olie,” not to mention full-length movies for the whole family such as “Alice In Wonderland,” “The Prince and the Pauper,” and “Merlin.” Meanwhile, Disney Channel continues to bring smiles to kids as it moves to Channel 47 and becomes available to both SkyCable Gold and Silver subscribers. Finally, SkyCable also introduces the Platinum Preview Channel on Channel 25, which gives subscribers a 24-hour sneak peek on the exclusive shows available on SkyCable Platinum.
