Things are heating up at Pinoy Big Brother’s house

There’s this persistent talk linking Ai-Ai delas Alas to John Estrada and John Pratts. Could the comedian have charmed these two hunks? Never underestimate the allure of a woman.

Don’t get me wrong. Ai-Ai has a colorful love life, but she’s not the kind who broadcasts her “conquests” to the world. Other than her long affair with Miguel Vera, that is.

From what I hear Ai-Ai and Miguel are still married and she’s gone to court for an annulment.

Things are heating up in Big Brother’s house. Ethel Booba is cooking up a plate of spicy intrigue. She has reportedly warned Mariel Rodriguez to steer clear of Jon Avila who she claims is “user-friendly.” Ethel says she knows about Jon’s dark nature because he’s a friend of Andrew Wolfe, who once had a thing going with Ethel.

Could Ethel be the reason why Andrew failed to make it to Big Brother’s house? He supposedly auditioned but failed the psychological test. Apparently, Andrew has a violent streak, and that’s a no-no as far as Big Brother is concerned.

Andrew once let it be known that he’s giving up his acting career because he’s going back to school. So why is he super-interested in joining Pinoy Big Brother?

If GMA-7 has its way, Regine Velasquez would be the host of Philippine Idol next year. There’s a big hitch, though. Freemantle, the show’s producer, doesn’t allow a professional singer or recording artist to host.

Ryan Agoncillo used to host the show when it was still on ABC-5. But he had to give it up because he would be hosting Pinoy Dream Academy come February. GMA-7 is left scrounging around for a Pinoy Idol host. Paolo Bediones is out because he already has Whammy. So are Janno Gibbs and Ogie Alcasid.

Katrina Halili may be playing the villain in Marimar, but she doesn’t mind it all. In fact she revels in her part. “It has helped me tremendously,” she says. “I am getting a lot of projects now. There are corporate shows, out-of-town shows, other events.”

Katrina dreams of putting up a house in her property in El Nido in Palawan. Right now, her parents and brother live in what she describes as a “hut” in the place.

Hollywood is in a swirl about a threatened strike by screenwriters. If the strike pushes through, it could mean that American TV viewers will be watching nothing but reruns and reality shows in the weeks to come.

The Writers Guild of America was due to announce its decision last Friday. The writers are demanding a bigger share in DVD and internet revenues. The producers are not inclined to give in.

Already some studios are stocking up on scripts just in case the strike pushes through.

The guild’s three-year contract with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers expired last week, and renegotiations are at an impasse.

The writers last walked out in 1988. The strike lasted 22 weeks and the industry lost an estimated $500 million.

Britney Spears splurges practically all of her monthly income of about $737,000 on clothes, gifts, vacations and entertainment, according to court documents made public last week.

The rest she spends paying for house mortgages, child support and, would you believe, spousal support! Britney has to pay her ex, Kevin Federline, $20,000 after they divorced. She also has to hand over $15,000 so he could take care of their two sons.

Spears temporarily surrendered custody of her sons to Federline after defying a court order.
