Isn’t Rufa Mae Quinto afraid of over-exposure? Aside from “Bubble Gang” that airs every Friday on GMA, the sexy comedienne reinvents herself by becoming a game show host in “Whammy! Push Your Luck” which starts on Monday, October 8. Rufa Mae shares the hosting chores with game show veteran Paolo Bediones.
“I’ve been over-exposed ever since I started my career,” the sexy Rufa Mae joked at the presscon of “Whammy! Push Your Luck” held Tuesday. “I’ve done movies, sitcoms, gag shows. Movies are different from TV shows. I’m portraying a role in a film. Doing a game show is different because I am not playing a role. It’s fine with me that I don’t have a sitcom right now because I can do more movies.”
Rufa Mae will be seen daily in “Whammy! Push Your Luck.” Hosting this game show is going to be a different experience for her. “I started my career doing movies. It’s a big break for me to be given a game show and on primetime at that,” said the sexy comedienne and mainstay of “Bubble Gang.”
“Whammy! Push Your Luck” will be pitted against “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal” hosted by Kris Aquino, but Rufa Mae said she’s not afraid of her.
“I’ve been a fan of Kris Aquino. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine to be given a chance to host a game show. Kris is a dear friend and she’s very good to me, even during the time when I was just a starlet struggling to make a name in the business. But I never really imagined I’d be a game show host until GMA 7 offered this to me,” added Rufa Mae.
“We are not here to compete with Kris. We are doing this game show to bring cheer to the people and give them the chance to win exciting prizes,” she said. Rufa is also requesting the public to watch the movie “Apat Dapat, Dapat Apat” which is opening on October 10 (which incidentally, is the birthday of her ex-bf Erik Santos). She produced the film in cooperation with Viva Films.

Mark Bautista has all the qualities any girl could probably be looking for a guy to love — popular, good-looking, moneyed and responsible. But how come he’s still loveless and seems to be unlucky in love?
“I don’t have a girlfriend right now because I believe I should concentrate first on my career,” said Mark who’s holding his second major concert at the Aliw Theater on October 13 titled “Simply Irresistible.” If this clicks and becomes successful, he will bring this as a concert series to the US next year.
Of course, the singer is also dreaming of holding a major concert at the Araneta Coliseum, which he hopes to accomplish next year.
While “Simply Irresistible” is the title of Mark’s concert, the press complained that its poster seems to say otherwise. How can you say Mark is “simply irresistible” when it lacks a sexy feel in it?
“We have a certain concept for the poster but it didn’t come out well that’s why we decided to change it,” explained Mark. But there’s no cause for worry. Come concert night, things will be different as the audience will have their fill of Mark and his guests Sarah Geronimo, Rachelle Ann Go, Rufa Mae Quinto, plus Anne Curtis and John Lapus

Michelle Carbonell used to host two cable shows in Davao before she became a part of the Be Bench search. She didn’t reckon she’d land among the Top 6 of the reality search. It was her mom and her friend who encouraged her to join the contest and she’s thankful of what she has achieved so far.
She’s a Communication Arts graduate from UP Mindanao that’s why she’s excited to join showbiz. She won’t forget the first time she met her idol Piolo Pascual. She didn’t have second thoughts of embracing the actor when she fell down during one of the Be Bench challenges.
Michelle is happy to be a certified Kapamilya after signing up with Star Magic. She knows the public would have big expectations of her—and she said she’s open to criticisms. She’s aiming to be a part of a variety show. She turned 21 last September 1.

Because of the mistake made by Christian Bautista while singing the national anthem, a lot of people were turned off, particularly those initially planning on watching his forthcoming major solo concert titled “Christian Inspired” set on October 6 at the Cuneta Astrodome.
A lot of those people whom we were able to speak with said that they are now having second thoughts, saying that they’d rather watch the concert of Billy Crawford set on the same day at the Araneta Coliseum. “This is first time that Billy is having a concert in Manila and it might take years before another musical event like this happens because Billy is based abroad. So we’d rather watch him,” said a Billy Crawford fanatic.
Christian is based in the Philippines and there’s a chance that we can watch him again in a concert. Someone is bound to suffer with the simultaneous staging of Christian and Billy’s concerts in separate venues. But the question remains—will Billy fill up the Big Dome? As for Christian, will the people troop to the Cuneta Astrodome which is not too accessible to fans? Who will the public bless?
