Hilary Duff takes a different musical course in ‘Dignity’ album

Dignity isn’t for sale. It comes from within.

US superstar Hilary Duff has always carried herself with dignity, and now, after selling more than 13 million albums worldwide, she storms back onto the UK music scene with her sensational new album “Dignity,” released on Disney’s Hollywood Records via EMI Phils which is now available in stores.

“Dignity” marks a notable change of musical direction for Hilary, seeing her embrace a new, edgier dance sound. The album is a confident collection of fourteen cool pop songs that is sure to affirm her position as one of the most exciting artists on the current music landscape.

Album highlights include the title track which sees Hilary talk about her experiences and observations of living in Los Angeles (“Where’s your dignity/I think you lost it in the Hollywood Hills”), whilst “Danger” explores the suspect advances of an older man. The lead single “With Love” turns the world’s most common song topic upside down with a crunching bass line and an irresistible hook that commands you to the dance floor. “Stranger” reveals a relationship that is picture perfect in public, but cold behind closed doors, with the album closing with the perfect infectious pop of “Play With Fire.”

At 19, Hilary has matured into a sophisticated singer and songwriter. She has co-written all the songs on “Dignity,” teaming up with Grammy-Award winning Kara Dioguardi (Gwen Stefani, Pussycat Dolls, Kelly Clarkson), as well as top producers/songwriters like Will.I.Am, Chico Bennett & Richard Vission (Madonna, Usher, The Killers), Tim & Bob (Nas, Jennifer Lopez), Fredwrecke (Snoop Dog, Eminem), and Rhett Lawrence.

Hilary’s US No.1 solo debut album “Metamorphosis” sold 4 times platinum, followed by her self-titled and “Most Wanted” collections, both of which sold 3 million records. In the UK Hilary has hit the Top 10 with songs “Wake Up” and “So Yesterday.” Her “Most Wanted” album has to date sold over 100,000 copies in the UK, achieving Gold status.

Hilary gained global recognition in 2001 starring in the hit Disney Channel series “Lizzie McGuire.” In May 2003, she brought her character to the big screen with Walt Disney Pictures “The Lizzie McGuire Movie.” She went on to co-star in hit films like “Agent Cody Banks,” “Cheaper By The Dozen,” “Cinderella Story,” “Raise Your Voice,” “Perfect Man” and “Material Girls.”

Hilary has also recently launched her own Elizabeth Arden perfume “With Love” worldwide, which will soon be hitting the stores.

But her music—and her upcoming world tour—remains front and centre, and that’s exactly how Hilary wants it.
