PASEO Food and Entertainment Center is all geared up to become the town’s newest alternative hang-out, bringing together the best entertainment, delectable dining options and glamorous nightlife all under one roof.
In literal Spanish, Paseo would mean a step, a leisurely stroll in the outdoors, a plaza or a walkway. And as its name implies, PASEO Food and Entertainment Center is all geared up to become the metropolis’ newest alternative destination, as it brings together the best entertainment, hippest fashion, delectable dining options and glamorous nightlife all under one roof.
As it diverts Cebu’s party-crazy and shopping crowd to its unconventional location at F. Cabahug St., Mabolo, Cebu City, PASEO will set a new benchmark in the industry. Open to all ages and different walks of life, PASEO can cater to just about anyone and everyone’s entertainment and lifestyle needs.
With its total land area of 6,000 sq. m., 100 bazaar stalls are spread throughout its Whole Nine Yards Night Market, offering various products at great bargains such as retail and designer brands, fabulous trinkets and accessories, pasalubong items, reading materials like paperbacks and glossies, electronic gadgets and gizmos, and more. The night market, the first-ever in Cebu, is open daily, from 2pm until 12 midnight, with 30% discount on selected items if you shop from 2pm to 5pm.
Every stall boasts of a unique and creative concept to suit different and diverse preferences and 70% of the owners are new entrepreneurs. PASEO also has a chill-out spa, anchor stores, and other specialty stores.
Right at the heart of PASEO is its Food, Beverage and Entertainment Center serving its customers’ party and dining needs. Ideal venue for large-scale events like concerts, PASEO’s Entertainment Center can accommodate up to 2,000 partyphiles, seated and 5,000 more, standing.
Equipped with a covered stage, partygoers can either relax or groove the night away to the beats of live bands and deejays from Cebu and Manila. With 31 food and beverage outlets, which open from 6pm onwards, PASEO offers a wide array of international cuisines from Asian, Western, Filipino, Spanish to Mexican, plus various concoctions and drinks of your choice.
Incorporating the "outdoor or open-air experience" into the Cebuanos’ concept of malling, PASEO is eyeing to start a trend and help develop the restobar industry in the city. PASEO hopes as well to create lasting and fun memories for tourists and local visitors alike.
According to John Paul Chiongbian, President of Dev. Asia Corporation, materializing PASEO’s concept was a risky business endeavor, but nonetheless exciting. "People have to take risks. The concept of entertainment for this generation are hip places. Cebu is booming right now and with a venue to showcase the latest in lifestyle and fashion, it will put us, Cebuanos, more at an advantage and more confident."
PASEO has been in operation for about three months now after it held a soft opening last February. This coming May 18 (Friday), PASEO will have its grand opening with a whole month celebration, featuring big-name bands and other exciting events that everyone should watch out for.
Chiongbian notes that PASEO has so far received positive responses from its patrons for introducing a concept that’s certainly something else. So for those looking for more than the usual excitement, check out the "one-stop, shop-dine-party" PASEO experience.
