The Final Judgment of "StarStruck: The Next Level" saw a packed Marikina Sports Park last Sunday as the fourth edition of the pioneering artista-search in local television drew to a close via an explosive mega-production.
Fans of the Survivor Six -- Aljur Abrenica, Mart Escudero, Prince Stefan, Jewel Mische, Kris Bernal and Rich Asuncion - convened at the huge sports complex to witness the grand culmination hosted by the troika of Dingdong Dantes, Jolina Magdangal and Raymond Gutierrez.
It was a tough season as all three hosts agreed that the fourth batch of StarStruck boasts of equally multi-talented individuals, each brimming with star quality.
Judging the best in the crop proved to be no easy task for the StarStruck Council composed of multi-media director Louie Ignacio, top-caliber manager and star maker Douglas Quijano, grandslam actress Lorna Tolentino, Wilma V. Galvante, GMA's senior vice president for entertainment television, and Annette Gozon-Abrogar, GMA Films president.
Fifty-percent of the Survivors' score came from the panel of judges, while the other half came from text votes.
And after all the pomp and pageantry that befit the best and most-promising showbiz aspirants today, StarStruck's Ultimate Hunk, Ultimate Sweetheart and Ultimate Loveteam were finally announced. Aljur Abrenica bagged this season's Ultimate Hunk title while Jewel Mische took home the Ultimate Sweetheart award.
Mart Escudero and Kris Bernal completed the four grand winners as they were named the Ultimate Love Team. Aljur, Jewel, Mart and Kris each took home P1 million in cash plus a GMA Management contract worth P2 million. Aljur and Kris were also named Male and Female Texters' Choice awardees after receiving the most number of text votes. Both Aljur and Kris each received a two-year modeling and endorsement contract from BNY jeans and shirts worth more than half a million.
Meanwhile, Rich Asuncion and Prince Stefan who both received glowing appraisals from the StarStruck Council were named StarStruck's First Princess and First Prince respectively. Both received P200,000 cash, tax-free.
The pretty Boholana Rich overwhelmed the crowd with her jaw-dropping performance of One Night Only while Iloilo's pride, Prince, reaped a thunderous applause with his own rendition of Ogie Alcasid's recent hits.
