Dancing the hula, the Dionne way

They say that the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) experience is an opportunity for every aspiring individual to show and prove herself.

And yet another Cebuana graces the house and what could be a better way to welcome her than with tropical prints and sexy bikinis and grass skirts?

A luau night inside the PBB House as the Season 2's 12th housemate from Cebu was what met "Lovable Sweetheart" Dionne Monsanto as she said aloha to the other housemates. Clad in a full blue Hawaiian costume, Dionne showed her excitement in becoming the newest addition to the family by teaching the other housemates how to do the Hawaiian dance.

This 21-year-old lass won numerous beauty pageants in Cebu. This became her ticket to stardom as she was given the rare opportunity to appear in several commercials both in print and television. Dionne eventually starred in a local TV series. She was further elevated to celebrity status when she started working as a VJ and host in some shows in Cebu.

But Dionne decided to leave showbiz behind to focus more on important things. Prior to her entering to the PBB house, she was a sophomore Mass Communication student from the University of the Philippines Cebu College. With that, she was determined to finish her studies to be able to help her family.

Dionne also took part in many charitable works like feeding programs for children. Feeding programs for the less-privileged children in her adopted community in Consolacion has become her birthday parties. In here, Dionne found her purpose in life. For her, her calling in life is to help other people.

Compassionate and kind, even without a father figure, she has braved through the struggles of life at an early age. Life wasn't always a bed of roses for Dionne. She would remember the times when she would find her mother crying because of the house bills they have to pay.

Big things do come in small packages. And indeed, Dionne proves to be one. As she makes her mark inside the house, Dionne would continue to touch hearts with her unique personality and unwavering spirit. There is more to her than meets the eye. As the episodes unfold, she will never fail to surprise us with her simple and elegant beauty that is purely Cebuana.
