Look Who's (Not) Talking

Is it true that James Yap was prevented by his wife, Kris Aquino, to give an interview to i.PBA...Ang Bagong Laro, the show produced by the Philippine Basketball Association on ABC-5? The show wanted to get James' side on the controversy that rocked his relationship with Kris in which he was allegedly having an affair with Hope, an employee of Vicky Belo's clinic (of which his wife Kris is an endorser). But when staff of i.PBA...Ang Bagong Laro requested for an interview, James declined and allegedly said that Kris prevented him from doing so.

"We wanted to get his side of the issue kasi maraming nagulat nang lumabas siya sa The Buzz noong Linggo when he said sorry to Kris on the air. Maraming nagtatanong ano ba talaga ang dahilan kung bakit sila nagkaproblema ni Kris. If we are to judged sa kung anong napanood natin sa The Buzz noong Linggo, masyado naman kinawawa si James. Being one of the top stars of the PBA, siyempre gusto rin naman namin to get his side of the story. Marami rin siyang fans na gustong malaman ang totoo," said one of the staff of the show who didn't want to be identified.

Not only had Kris prevented James from talking about the issue. James, on the alleged prodding of Kris, also missed the summer episode of i.PBA...Ang Bagong Laro to be shot in Boracay. James was supposed to be the representative of the Purefoods team on the said episode. But when the staff got back to him to confirm his participation, James also declined to go even if initially he had already said yes.

Star-studded birthday party

Senator Jinggoy Estrada celebrated his birthday last Saturday with a party held at Zirkoh Comedy Bar in Greenhills and when asked of his birthday wish, Sen. Jinggoy says he's fervent wish is for his dad, former president Joseph Estrada to be released and be allowed to join his family.

"It's been my wish for six years and it has yet to be granted," said the senator who was joined by his good friends Sen. Bong Revilla, actors Phillip Salvador and Rudy Fernandez, Megastar Sharon Cuneta, Eddie Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama, in his party that gathered some of his good friends in showbiz as well as in the world of politics.

Jinggoy and his friends Bong, Ipe, and Daboy, together with Tirso Cruz had a very successful post Valentine show at Zirkoh last February 15. The venue was packed and the crowd had an entertaining night of songs and dances. Jinggoy produced the show and he said it was just for fun.

"I told my buddies that we are not getting any younger so we ought to think of another source of income so I thought of producing concerts," he said in a brief interview. "If there are other producers out there who would want to produce a show for our group, by all means, we would be delighted to accept." We asked the good senator on the rumor that his wife, Precy Ejercito, is also entering politics and would run for mayor of San Juan. "That's not true. But we have been receiving feelers for her to do so but she's not running," said Jinggoy.

Superhero powers for Ogie

Ogie Alcasid will be given superhero abilities that will make him the nemesis of evildoers. Fight scenes and action sequences will be in focus in Ay Robot aired on QTV Channel 11 this Saturday.

Sam Bumatay will try to make soap, shampoo and other simple things needed in the household of Douglas (Ogie). While in the process of doing one soap, a spider drops into the ingredients that she's using. When Douglas used the soap where the spider accidentally drops into, queer things started happening. Anything that he holds on to clings to him. And everybody gets surprised with his superhuman powers ala-Spiderman.

Meanwhile, Andoy (Franzen Fajardo), the rich and arrogant cousin of Beloy, arrives in the neighborhood. Since he was very friendly with everybody, no one suspected him as the culprit behind a series of robberies in their place. The neighbors pointed their fingers at Kidik (Mitoy), the former classmate of Kat.

But Douglas catches Andoy climbing the walls and crawling at the rooftops of his neighbors using high-tech gadgets. To help his barangay, Douglas will think of using his newfound powers to stop Andoy. What follows is an exciting battle in this week's episode of Ay Robot titled Spider Douglas to be aired tomorrow night at 7 on QTV 11.

Young love in Star Magic Presents Abt Ur Love

Star Magic Presents Abt Ur Love is the teen-oriented show that airs every Saturday, 4 p.m. on ABS-CBN. It stars a whole bunch of Star Magic talents, which includes Zia Marquez, Empress Schuck and Dino Imperial. In the previous episodes, Giselle (Zia) was witness to most of the love-hate relationship of Hillary (Empress) and Bill (Dino). In most of the episodes since Day One, everyone saw how Bill did everything to irritate Hillary. It even got to a point where Hillary asked Celine (Denise Laurel) to teach her mixed martial arts moves so she can beat up Bill. The guy was really beaten up and because he was hurting, requested that Hillary be his nurse. But even on such condition, Bill still found ways to play tricks on her.

But in real life, it is rumored that Dino really has a crush on Empress. But he has to work real hard if he plans to win her heart because Empress has crush on someone else, Angelo Patrimonio (the son of basketball idol Alvin Patrimonio). But since they are together in the show, they are getting along just fine.
