February 13, 2007 | 12:00am
"I am looking forward to my second concert in Cebu and this time I am bringing Nicole with me!" gushed world-renowned singer and multi-awarded stage actress Lea Salonga about her Valentine show at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel on Wednesday, Feb. 14. LEA IN LOVE ... WITH CEBU marks Lea's return engagement in this city after the highly successful sold-out first show in December 2005, during which she was still pregnant with her firstborn, Nicole Beverly.
Lea continues her love affair with Cebu from the time Lea and her entourage lands in Mactan and serviced in style throughout her stay in brand new Suzuki Grand Vitaras until she leaves for Davao. The Tony & Olivier awardee was accorded last week by President Arroyo the highest presidential honor that may be bestowed upon a Filipino civilian-the Order of Lakandula with rank of Commander (Komandante)-for "her outstanding dedication in fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, justice and dignified relations among persons and nations." Also in the past week, Speaker Jose de Venecia Jr. bestowed the Congressional Medal of Achievement upon Lea for opening the way for "other Filipino artists to break into the finest theaters in the world."
The few remaining tickets for LEA IN LOVE…WITH CEBU are still available at the Citickets Box-Office at the Waterfront Hotel (232-6888) and at Wings Travel & Tours, Inc. at the Ayala Center Cebu (231-7391).
