Rockerzdak Nite will be staged for four Saturdays featuring the new crop of Cebuano rockistas. Entrance fee is pegged at P50. This event is part of La Mer's reinvention, in its desire to become an appropriate venue for the honing of homegrown talents.
There will also be Reggae Jammin' Nites on Fridays featuring the soul, sound, word, fire and powerplay of local reggae bands No Parking Anytime, Onion Leaves, Peace 4:20, Santing Scalawags and Tropical Roots.
Contrary to what was announced earlier, La Mer would like to ask an apology for the shelving of a reggae party featuring "Enchi." Cyril said they were duped by a band that claimed to be "Enchi." The arrangement was done through text message only. Later on, when Cyril called up the band, he found out that one of its members would just want to get some attention and was also apologetic for using Enchi. So the November 10 reggae party with Enchi is now canned!
La Mer will also be hosting an Open Mic Nite and a Karaoke Nite. Watch out for its nightly activities and do continue supporting local independent music. - Maria Eleanor Elape Valeros
