Over the past year, Showbiz Stripped has delved into the truth, lies, and consequence of show business, proving that it is the only one with the right to claim that "Showbiz Stripped lang ang may kaya."
And indeed it is the only one that can. Showbiz Stripped was the only showbiz program bold enough to have unraveled the mysteries of the past year's most controversial stars in a series of no-holds-barred one-on-ones. Local showbiz greats like Mother Lily, Comedy King Dolphy, Susan Roces (in her first interview a month after FPJ's death), Vic Sotto, Sharon Cuneta, Vilma Santos, Gretchen Barretto, Kris Aquino, Ely Buendia (in his first interview about his disbanded band Eraserheads), and even international stars Antonio Banderas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Migs Ayesa, Mick Foley, Memoirs of a Geisha's Zhang Ziyi, and Jet Li bared all in exclusive interviews with Ricky Lo.
Several much-coveted scoops were also first seen in Stripped, including Rochelle Pangilinan's first interview with Jopay and Ira about Sexbomb, April Boy Regino's migration plans, Jackie Forster's admission of her pregnancy, Aiko Melendez' first admission about her pregnancy and her and Martin Jickain's wedding plans, Dan Fernandez' first interview about his separation with Sheila Israel, and so much more. It even went beyond scoops into hard-core exposes about the Baywalk Bodies' admission of their men and women financial supporters and Jenny Roa's addiction.
This May, be ready for more explosive episodes as Showbiz Stripped celebrates its first anniversary, as it explores Showbiz' Cycle of Life beginning with the "Katuwang sa Hirap at Ginhawa" episode on Saturday, May 6. In his first TV appearance after his major operation, Rudy Fernandez, with Lorna Tolentino, will speak of the challenges they went through in dealing with Rudy's illness, and how they are slowly recovering from it all. Powerhouse showbiz couples Bong Revilla Jr. and Lani Mercado, and Christopher de Leon and Sandy Andolong also reveal their secrets on how they have stayed together despite the odds.
Watch out for more explosive features for the whole month of May, including an extremely amusing episode featuring today's high-profile kids and their take on showbiz issues, as well as a never-before-seen feature that would take showbiz watchers and fans through all three Starstruck Batches.
Showbiz Stripped marks a remarkable first year with month-long special episodes no one should dare miss. The program airs every Saturday night after Hokus Pokus on GMA-7.
