BLOW YOUR JOB!

What's the nature of your job?

In 93.1 SMASH fm, I handle the 9:30-11:30TTh program: yourVOICE,yourCHOICE TINGOG KABATAAN with djRAM on my side to work on those gadgets. Outside SMASH, I facilitate training programs, workshops and seminars with organizations, LGUs, religious groups, NGOs, and corporate teams with Al Nino Capangpangan of CHILL OUT VENTURE using Adventure-Based Programming. As an on-call facilitator of the Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc (RAFI) Kool Adventure Camp, I get to be with the team during camps and with their Post-Camp and youth-development programs.

Do you find your job challenging?

Whether at SMASH or during trainings I facilitate or with the institutions I volunteer in, one thing that's common is empowerment: encouraging our artists in the music scene to make themselves heard; being an agent of awareness for personal growth; supporting groups that are geared towards youth and community development. These for me are challenges that keep me going. (hala! Kanus-a kaha ko magminyo aning storyaha noh?)

Bisrock rules because?

We have the skills. We have the talents. It's about time that we return to our own culture - atong kaugalingong pinulongan. Enough of the criteria of Imperial Manila and Neo-Colonialism for quality music. Enough of those giant record labels dictating our airwaves on which bands to play - leaving our local bands far down their list. We deserved to be listened to. Mabuhi tang tanang mga BISROCKERS!!
