Giselle Sanchez to front act for Kalapana in Cebu
February 9, 2006 | 12:00am
Top rate comedienne Giselle Sanchez is coming to front act for the pride of Hawaii, the world-famous Kalapana band, when they perform in Cebu City, as part of the Asian leg of their current world tour. The perky and lively television artist is a popular star of live shows and corporate events.
Giselle's comic flair is a perfect complement to the talented musicians and recording artists from Hawaii. "Kalapana (The Cebu Concert)" is a special post-Valentine's show that is sure to tickle and delight music lovers on Wednesday, February 15, 2006 at 8 pm in the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.
Though Kalapana has evolved over the years since the 1970s, undergoing various configurations as different members successfully pursued solo careers, only to reunite time and again, the group has always retained their distinctive sound and musicality.
The groupings and regroupings have proved to be innovative and beneficial in a way as Kalapana comes out more prolific than ever, releasing hit record after another. The chemistry evolving from these five musicians, according to Wayne Harada of Honolulu Advertiser, "retains the best of the old with the tidy, sensible sound of today."
Kalapana fans will be surely thrilled as the popular tune of "Nightbird" and the bittersweet hits "The Hurt" and "You Make it Hard" will be performed live by group members DJ Pratt, Gaylord Holomalia, Kenji Sano and Malani Bilyeu.
"Kalapana (The Cebu Concert)" is sponsored by Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, Casino Filipino-Cebu, Trans-Asia Shipping Lines, Standard Insurance, Philippine Airlines, Da Vinci's Pizza, Nature's Spring Drinking Water, La Maison, Continental Airlines, Alcordo Advertising, Ad Consultants, Style Assembly, RCTV, Cebu Channel 28, Cebu Daily News, Y101, Monster Radio 105.9, WRock 96.3, Crossover 90.7 Killerbee 92.3, GraphicStar and The FREEMAN.
