"I never said anything like that," said Assunta at her solo presscon for the movie "Kutob" under Canary Films, one of the entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival that starts on Christmas Day. While she doesn't hide the fact that she still dislikes Jules even if she's already Assunta's husband, she denies badmouthing the couple and refuses to be held responsible for the rumors that the two have called it quits.
Alessandra was the first one who cried at the farewell party of the cast and production staff of "Darna" which ended last Friday. "I was already crying on the car on my way to the party. I will miss my co-stars and the production staff." In case you've forgotten, Alessandra was an ex-girlfriend of Oyo Boy Sotto, who's now the boyfriend of Angel Locsin who portrayed "Darna."
"Angel and I are friends. We get along well," said Alex. "We were together in the show 'Click' where she started her career on TV. I was already three years in 'Click' when she joined the show."
But when asked if she and Angel talk about Oyo Boy, "No, naman. We don't talk about him. Pangit naman kung pag-usapan namin siya. Pero kung nagkikita kami na kasama niya si Oyo Boy, walang problema. Magkaibigan naman kami ni Oyo," said Alex.
She's also part of the cast of the forthcoming GMA show "Etheria," the prequel of "Encantadia" and for a change, she's not playing a kontrabida role. "Pahinga muna ako sa kontrabida roles. Saka na lang ulit."
Alex is happy to be part of "Kutob" where she plays another kikay role. "Makulit ako uli dito, parang 'yung role ko sa 'Spirit of the Glass.' That's the kind of role director Joey Reyes wants for me. It's a fun role but the movie has an intriguing twist in the end. Sorry I can't tell what it is. Mawawala ang suspense."
Few may have noticed it but Gem was one of the girls suspended by MTRCB chief Marissa Laguardia because of an accidental breast exposure in a dance number in "ASAP '05" a few weeks ago. Her areola accidentally peeked from her costume when she did a dance number with Cherry Lou who was likewise suspended by the MTRCB.
"The string of Cherry Lou's costume snapped. Tapos ako naman, nalilis ang tube blouse na suot ko kasi gumapang pa ako sa floor. Nahila siguro ang tube blouse ko kaya lumitaw ang hindi dapat makita. It was accident and I wasn't aware of what happened. Plus we didn't know that Chairman Laguardia was watching from the audience that time. The costume was provided for although I am not blaming the wardrobe department for what happened. It was really an accident and we had no intention of letting it happen," Gem said at the birthday presscon for the Star Magic talents for the month of November. She turned 25 yesterday.
Gem used to belong to GMA 7 and in fact was among the first batch of artists signed up by GMA Artist Center. After being a mainstay of "SOP" for two years, she moved to ABS-CBN as one of Charlene's co-hosts in "Keep On Dancing." As a young girl, Gem already had this passion for dancing. Gem was born in Cebu, wherein as a young girl, took lessons in ballet and jazz. When her brother Duncan Ramos was taken in by Manila Genesis as one of its roster of talents, Gem and the entire family moved to Manila.
"Mahirap naman basta ipagkatiwala lang namin si Duncan to the manager," said Gem. "Duncan was still very young when he was signed by Manila Genesis. He's now being managed by the Sharon Inductivo, the manager of South Border where he's one of the soloists."
What is her reaction to the rumor that Duncan is playing sweet music with sexy star Rufa Mae Quinto? "As an elder sister, I don't meddle in his love life. I was surprised when I saw that news on TV. Rufa Mae is a big star and when it comes to his lovelife, Duncan doesn't say anything."
Gem finished Mass Communications at Centro Escolar University that's why she has something to fall back on just in case she wants to quit her showbiz career. "I am enjoying myself but siyempre I want to try other things. I am preparing my resume so I could audition for a job as a newscaster or weather girl," she said.
"I didn't know the show would last this long but I am enjoying myself in it," says Mickie. She knew she'd be ask to wear bathing suit in the show and didn't have qualms with it. "I am really enjoying myself in "Bora." The cast had become like family, even with the staff. It's a fun show and I am glad I became a part of it."
Mickie also joined the show "Hollywood Dream" on ABC 5. And she's very thankful to have emerged as one of the finalists. "It was a great experience. I didn't know it would change us so much and I'm glad to have given it a try. It was a great experience. At first, I was kind of reluctant to join since it's a reality show and I really didn't know what it is like. But it has changed my life dramatically. I loved it because I always welcome change. I didn't expect naman to remain the same after trying out show business."
Mickie, in case you don't know, is also involved in missionary work, especially with the youth sector. But she had always wanted to give acting a try. She had experience acting in school. She didn't get to finish college, though. She took up Psychology and would have wanted to major in child psychology. If she would find the time, she hopes to go back to her studies. Mickie turned 21 last November 7. Even if she had been heavily involved in missionary work, it didn't cross her mind to become a nun.
Alfred is aware that Isabel is being linked with Richard Gutierrez (Isabel's partner in "Sugo") but he says that this is a normal thing in showbiz. He adds that it is possible that he might be linked to Isabel too since they are working together in the Season 9 of "Love to Love" which started yesterday on GMA 7.
Alfred is loveless (he just broke up with his girlfriend). When asked if it's possible for him to fall for Isabel, he admits that he finds the Cebuana attractive and beautiful. He'd also like to ask her out on a date if Isabel would oblige.
The actor is happy to have been nominated in the 2nd Golden Screen Entertainment TV Awards as Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his role as Aquil in the telefantasya "Encantadia." Even if he didn't win, Alfred is thankful to have been recognized for his work.
