Comic stars come out at Ad Congress

The way to a man's heart is through his funny bone. Or so it seemed as stand-up comics Teri Onor, K Brosas and Marissa Sanchez served the comic flavor to the luncheon hosted by The Philippine STAR, headed by its president and CEO, Miguel G. Belmonte, on the opening day of the 19 th Advertising Congress last Thursday at the Waterfront Hotel in Lahug. The Philippine STAR is the sister publication of The FREEMAN.
The three television personalities were able to send the initially non-reactive crowd, composed of over 2,500 marketing and media practitioners, into fits of laughter, bantering endlessly (and shamelessly!) with their audience as exciting prizes were given away-three Magic Sing microphones, 50 Swatches, 40 top-of-the-line cellphones, 20 iPods, and lastly, 10 25-inch colored flat television sets.
The threesome's presence proved to be more than just for laughs. K Brosas boldly belted songs in the tradition of multi-octave Mariah Carey-never mind if she still had her first major concert to hurdle the following day. Not to be outdone, Teri Onor jumped from the stage and serenaded some of the male AdCon delegates while Marissa Sanchez, who interestingly is a former ballerina for the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), hit the high notes of her song numbers garbed in a daring get-up.
