John Lapus is very happy with the break given him by ABC-5 to host his own show titled "Blind Item" that premiered last Saturday, November 5. It's a talk show cum game show that was aired 8 p.m. after the PBA games. After having been a co-host of Ai Ai de las Alas in "Sing-Galing," John is honored to be offered by ABC 5 to do his own show. "It's very flattering that ABC-5 gave me this chance to do my own show even if I'm not what you'd call popular celebrity," said John who sees doing "Blind Item" as a challenge to his hosting abilities. "ABC-5 believes it's about time I'm given a show of my own and I'm glad they believe in my capability to host my own show." Aside from doing "Blind Item," John Lapus co-stars with Jon Santos in the comedy show, "Ang Ganda" at Zirkoh Club Timog Avenue set on November 11, 12, 18, 19, 25, and 26. Produced by Pops Fernandez and DSL productions, "Ang Ganda" will feature the comedians getting into the characters of Vilma Santos, Nora Aunor, Rosanna Roces, Dra. Vicki Belo, Cory Aquino, Kris Aquino and many others. Who will upstage whom in this show? Jon and John will be backed up by the Streetdancers and a surprise male hunk will guest every night.
Singer and VJ Nikki Gil admits going steady with Gabriel Valenciano, the son of Gary Valenciano. But while she admits "sinagot na niya si Gabriel," Nikki says she and Gabriel are still in the getting-to-know-each-other-better stage although they've known each other for quite some time now, having met each other in their church where they both belong in the music ministry. "Would you accept my answer if I tell you that we are best friends," Nikki told us at the presscon of Christian Bautista's thanksgiving concert titled "Heartfelt" set at the Music Museum on November 11 and 12. Well, if that's how Nikki would like to term her relationship with Gabriel, we need not argue with her. What is important is that she admitted that she and Gabriel is an item, unlike other stars who deny their relationship but have the gall to admit it once they broke up. Nikki had always been interested in music, having grown up in a musically-inclined family. It's only now that she got into show biz was because her dad doesn't approve of Nikki having a career in show biz. But she was able to convince him to give his blessing since even if Nikki is pursuing a career in show biz, she's not neglecting her studies. She's in her sophomore year in her English Literature course at the Ateneo de Manila University. She's not yet sure if she will go into Law school when she finish her course although the degree is also broad enough for her to get into Advertising as well.
