Tolits' big screen treatment

Is it true Fernando Poe Jr. is making spiritual manifestations to Lovi Poe, his only daughter by the model Rowena Moran?
According to Virgie Balatico, a friend of Lovi's mom, the 16-year-old high school junior at San Agustin has been smelling flowers and candles in her house recently.
The most intriguing experience was when Lovi came very tired after a rehearsal in school. She wanted her mommy to give her a massage, but the mom advised her to sleep instead.
When Love awoke, all her tiredness was gone, and she attributed it to the massage her mom gave her while she was asleep. When she thanked her mom for the relaxing rubdown, the mom was surprised because she never gave her one.
That's when they realized that Da King must have played the role of a masseur for his daughter. "That's how much he loves his daughter," Tita Virgie said.
Da King had always been affectionate to Lovi. He often took her with him to gatherings of his friends, so she knew a lot of them. She has been using her dad's surname. Her classmates know she's FPJ's daughter. Lovi however didn't join her dad when he campaigned last year, perhaps because FPJ didn't want to expose her to all that political intrigue.
Lovi, by the way, has no plans of going into showbiz. She consented to appear on "S Files" only to clear up a number of issues. After she appeared on "S Files" last Sunday, Lovi has been getting offers left and right. GMA-7 offered her a part in "SOP" and in other shows of the network, but it seems showbiz is low on her list of priorities.
"As long as she is just going to sing, that' s alright with her mom," Tita Virgie said. "She really has the talent for it." Lovi honed her musical skills and stage presence by joining school plays. o0o
Kuh Ledesma's venture into catering for wedding receptions has struck a few sour notes. At least four newlyweds have complained that the food ran short during their receptions at Hacienda Isabelle in Tagaytay.
To make up for the gaffe, Kuh laid out a reception in her house for the last complaining pair. As a bonus, she also staged a free concert! o0o
I forced myself to watch "Pipol" on ABS-CBN last Tuesday. I don't usually waste my time on the show, except that particular night because James Yap, the man Kris Aquino will be marrying, was guesting.
People close to him were interviewed as some sort of character references. A classmate attested to the hard work and dedication James puts into his basketball career. His father revealed that James promised to help bring the family out of poverty.
What the father said almost knocked me off my seat. A few minutes earlier, the show's host had just said that James comes from a wealthy family and that his father had a well-paying job. Hello! Did the show's writer suffer from some mental block?
I waited for James to appear, to confess his undying love for Kris.
He never showed up. The show's producers should be taken to task for making false claims. o0o
Child sensation Tolits (real name: BJ Forbes) gets the big screen treatment as he started shooting - with no less than Vic Sotto - the new film, "Tay I Have a Question."
Like Aiza Seguerra, Tolits is a product of "Eat Bulaga," appearing on the "That's My Boy" talent search portion. He didn't win, although he took home the Best Costume award. Look where he is now!
"Tay" is not meant as a filmfest entry. When Vic shoots a movie, it's usually a Christmas release. Tony Reyes directs.
With the movie, Vic returns to the Regal stable, which co-produced it with MAQ Productions and APT Entertainment. Vic had long planned to make a movie for Regal; he had a project for the outfit with Kris Aquino but it never got off the ground. "We had just started filming 'Enteng Kabisote' at the time," he recalled.
There was also a plan to do a remake of "Ang Tatay Kong Nanay," the original of which starred Dolphy. That too didn't materialize.
When Vic read the script of "Tay" he didn't have second thoughts of accepting Regal's offer. It's a horror-comedy film and the target playdate is September or October. The film also stars Iza Calzado, Pilita Corrales, Wally Bayola, Jose Manalo and Teri Aunor. o0o
Michael Jackson has been acquitted of charges of child molestation, inducing a minor to drink alcohol and conspiring to keep a 13-year-old cancer survivor's family hostage in his Neverland estate to keep them from spilling the goods on his weird lifestyle.
The curious thing is that the jurors admitted later that they believed the fading King of Pop did molest the children whom he invited to sleep over and share his bed, but that the prosecution never fully established the accusations beyond reasonable doubt.
The question now is, can Michael pick up the pieces of his life and his career? Boy Abunda wryly suggests that Michael launch his comeback by releasing a new album, "Acquitted."
