CEBU, Philippines — AboitizPower subsidiary Therma Visayas, Inc. (TVI) has reaffirmed its commitment to the well-being of its host communities through an intensified focus on corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

Most recently, TVI conducted a successful three-day medical and dental mission from March 12 to 14, delivering essential healthcare services to hundreds of residents in Barangays Bato and Cabitoonan, Toledo City.

In partnership with the local health office and volunteer doctors, TVI provided free medical consultations to 333 residents and facilitated dental procedures for 15 individuals.

The initiative, which reached multiple sitios, addressed the healthcare needs of underserved families who often face challenges in accessing medical services.

To ensure a comprehensive approach, all patients underwent initial health assessments, including vital sign checks performed by barangay health workers. TVI further extended its support by providing free prescribed medications and vitamins, underscoring its ongoing efforts to make healthcare more accessible to the community.

Recognizing the importance of health education, TVI integrated medical awareness sessions into the mission. A volunteer doctor led discussions on essential health topics, empowering residents with knowledge on disease prevention and overall well-being.

In alignment with its focus on preventive care, TVI’s past missions have also highlighted key healthcare policies, such as the Generics Act of 1988, reinforcing the importance of affordable and accessible medicine.

With quarterly medical missions planned throughout the year, TVI remains committed to its mission to bridge healthcare gaps and promote long-term community well-being. These ongoing initiatives are part of TVI’s broader CSR strategy, which prioritizes sustainable community development alongside its core business of power generation.

Therma Visayas Inc. operates the 340-megawatt Toledo Baseload Power Plant in Barangay Bato, Toledo City. As part of AboitizPower’s commitment to sustainable growth, TVI consistently engages in programs that uplift its host communities, ensuring that progress extends beyond providing reliable energy.

Utilizing advanced Circulating Fluidized Bed (CFB) technology and Best Available Control Technology (BACT), the plant ensures cleaner and more efficient power production. These technologies reflect TVI’s commitment to reducing environmental impact while meeting the growing energy demands of the Visayas region.
