CCCI embarks on 5-day Osaka trade mission
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is leading a five-day trade mission to Osaka, Japan, from February 23 to 27, 2025. This initiative marks the chamber’s first in a series of overseas missions for the year.
The 50-member delegation will participate in Osaka Synergy 2025, which showcases Japan’s premier expos across key industries. The group aims to explore potential collaborations, technology transfers, and cultural exchanges that will benefit Cebu’s local industries, according to CCCI President Jay Y. Yuvallos.
This trade mission includes visits to four of Osaka’s leading exhibitions: FooDtech Week, Food Hygiene Expo, INTERPHEX Week, and the Regenerative Medicine Expo.
Yuvallos highlighted that these expos offer opportunities to engage with the latest advancements in sectors such as food production, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, and regenerative medicine.
FooDtech Week will feature technologies driving automation, digital transformation in food factories, and solutions to combat food loss, with contributions from Japan and other parts of Asia.
Cebuano entrepreneurs will also explore innovations in food safety and hygiene at the Food Hygiene Expo.
At INTERPHEX Week, delegates will attend exhibitions focusing on manufacturing and packaging, pharmaceutical research and development, new drug discoveries, and digital transformation in the pharmaceutical sector.
The Regenerative Medicine Expo will provide insights into media culture, reagents, incubators, cell research products, contract services, and licensing opportunities in the rapidly growing field of regenerative medicine.
In addition to attending the expos, the delegation will engage with the Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI), the Philippine Consulate General in Osaka, and the Osaka Business Promotions Center to expand networking and business development opportunities.
CCCI has strategically prioritized aligning local businesses with global advancements to remain competitive in the evolving market landscape.
As Japan’s third-largest city, Osaka is a dynamic hub known for its rich history, technological innovation, and culinary excellence. Often referred to as the “Nation’s Kitchen” for its vibrant street food culture, Osaka also stands as a beacon of technological progress, offering countless opportunities for business growth and industry development. — (FREEMAN)
