CEBU, Philippines — Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) broke grounds for Sanremo’s Building 8 on Saturday, September 14, 2024, a milestone that will further spur the development of its 40-hectare joint venture project with the Cebu City Government.

In a bid to cater to the evolving preferences of younger homebuyers, the latest addition to the sprawling 3.48-hectare residential development is designed with the digital native in mind, said John Paul Escario, FLI’s Assistant Vice President and Area Head for Cebu.

The eighth building in the community promises to meet the high-tech expectations of established millennial buyers and successful Gen Z leaders, combining smart home features with eco-friendly design elements.

“We’ve carefully considered the lifestyle priorities of today’s buyers,” explained Escario.

“The goal is to offer a home that seamlessly integrates technology and sustainability while providing spaces that can adapt to the changing needs of young professionals and families alike,” he added.

Flexible floor plans further align with the demand for adaptable living spaces, reflecting a growing shift toward sustainable, customizable housing solutions that resonate with environmentally conscious and tech-savvy consumers.

With a roof deck garden and the residential units secured with digital locksets, it offers 203 residential units ranging from a 22-sqm studio, 27.27-sqm one-bedroom unit and 31.73-sqm two-bedroom units.

According to Escario the ground floor is designed as a retail strip to accommodate shops that will serve the needs of residents within the community.

He further added that they expect Sanremo’s Building 8 to generate at least P1 billion from the sale of residential units.

“We are not just raising another condo building; we are laying down the very foundation of fulfilling more dreams in City di Mare and the dynamic city of Cebu,” Escario said in his message during the groundbreaking program.

Filinvest started to develop Sanremo Oasis in 2010, now home to residents who enjoy a resort-inspired lifestyle, packed with amenities that include a lap pool, kiddie pool, pre-teens’ pool, and kid’s playroom in a two-level clubhouse.

With several open spaces, Sanremo has an outdoor play area, jogging trail, pocket parks, basketball court, and a fitness gym, also in the clubhouse ready to be enjoyed.

“Sanremo has become a sanctuary, a comforting home that welcomed many families and individuals into its warm embrace. Residents here have relished the joys of living in a resort-style community at the heart of progress, transforming daily routines into unforgettable experiences,” noted Escario.

“Now, Building 8 reaffirms the company’s commitment to bringing the dream lifestyle to a broader market – those aspiring to experience their oasis in the city,” he added.

Louie Henry Carandang, FLI’s Vice President and Regional General Manager for Visayas, said that the upcoming building “has opened doors to more opportunities for home seekers looking to upgrade their lifestyle.”

“This flourishing community will continue its mission of raising the standards of urban living and exceeding the expectations of many Cebuanos as they pursue their life goals and aspirations,” Carandang said.

Acting Mayor Raymond Alvin N. Garcia with Councilor Rey Gealon, the new SRP board chair, led city officials and Filinvest executives during the groundbreaking ceremony.

“This is a very momentous occasion for all of us. We are all very excited about this new project of Filinvest with Cebu City. I want you to grow because you grow with us,” Garcia said in his message.
