Firm expands services to realty and brokerage

Ehda M. Dagooc - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — A group of young Cebuano lawyers has pooled their expertise to capitalize on the rosy real estate sector in Cebu and neighboring provinces in Visayas and Mindanao by opening career opportunities for the ‘younger bunch’ to enter the realty and brokerage profession.

Initially doing back-office and documentation processes, among other legal requirements for realty transactions for five years, the group’s company Tierra Pro Real Estate Solutions expanded their service offerings now tapping property selling and brokerage services.

In a press conference to officially introduce the group’s newest venture, Tierra Pro president Atty. Nestor Crispin Miguel Lumapas said that the company’s entry into realty brokerage service will provide a unique twist focusing mainly on mentoring the young generation, including those who are taking Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management courses to capitalize on the real estate business and lead in professionalizing the property brokerage sector.

Lumapas and his co-founders Atty. Paul Danico Blanco, Atty. John Michael Fiel, Atty. Jo. Kristian Borbajo, and registered Realty Broker Lovelyn Castañeda REB, have decided to expand their business and commit to focusing on youth empowerment, especially in terms of having a growth mindset in dealing with finances.

According to Lumapas, while Tierra Pro Real Estate Solutions, have been in the business for almost five years, “we have yet to introduce to the younger generations the opportunities they can exploit into.”

“This is not just about giving job opportunities nor selling properties to investors, our main thrust is having this platform where we can spread our Company Principles. We believe that our unique approach can help Cebuanos especially the younger bunch with the growth mindset to allow them to earn and build their own wealth while keeping in mind how they can take good care of their money,” said Lumapas.

This unique approach to encouraging younger people, mostly the millennials to consider a real estate career starts with becoming a licensed sales agent and growing into a full-fledge realty broker, is introduced based on the observation that youth nowadays are too brainwashed by social media to follow the latest trends and playing the status game.

The company’s approach to igniting interest to make real estate marketing, and brokerage a promising profession for millennials will utilize the “language” they mostly understand—“playing the wealth game” in real estate.

Lumapas explained that as they are now accepting brokers and salespersons, they have prepared an orientation for their new recruits to understand more about financial literacy which is unfortunately not being taught in the curriculum of our schools in the country.

“Aside from our team of lawyers in Tierra Pro, we are also part of the generation that learned financial literacy when we were already working. It is sad that our education system in the Philippines has not taught us this practical lesson in life, and where there is a gap there lies the opportunity,” explained Lumapas

“We are in Cebu, which is considered as one of the major real estate hubs in the country. We see this as both an opportunity to earn more and a golden opportunity to educate our younger generation by teaching them about how to think about money, how to invest what they earn, and empowering them with financial literacy,” said the Cebuano lawyer.

Initially, the company is partnering with Realty Broker Castañeda to accredit 20 salespersons as allowed by the Real Estate Service Act (RESA)of 2009 or RESA Law.

Recently, the company has officially enlisted 12 accredited salespersons under the company, some are graduating students of Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management (BSREM) courses. — (FREEMAN)
