Suprea opens biggest cement batching plant
CEBU, Philippines — Cebu-based ready-mix concrete supplier, Suprea Phils Development Corporation, opened its biggest batching plant in the town of Compostela, northern Cebu.
The Suprea batching plant has the capacity to make 2,000 of 40 kilos sacks of ready-mix concrete, an important solution for any construction project, from small residential unit to roads and bridges.
Suprea Philippines is a subsidiary of diversified company AppleOne Properties Inc., the company behind Sheraton Mactan Cebu Resort, among other properties in Visayas and Mindanao.
In an interview with AppleOne Properties president and chief executive officer (CEO) Ray Go Manigsaca, he said that the promising outlook for economic recovery from the two-year pandemic, and the destruction brought by super typhoon Odette, inspired the company to pursue more expansion plans for all its subsidiary companies, including Suprea Philippines.
Located in a 2.3-hectare property in barangay Estaca, Compostela Cebu, the entry of Suprea ready-mix concrete plant, which needs 80 to 100 people for a full blast operation, is a welcome development for the town, considering that Compostela is poised to attract more investors to achieve its bid becoming a second class municipality, said Compostela Mayor Felijur P. Quiño during the facility’s ceremonial ribbon cutting held September 6, 2022.
Suprea Phils counts several major construction companies as clients, among which are structures built with Suprea’s high quality ready-mixed concrete are various high-rise, commercial and residential buildings, as well as government infrastructure like major bridges and that connect provinces, towns and municipalities.
Established in 2016 following its acquisition of a concrete plant in Cagayan de Oro, Suprea Phils opened several batching plants in Visayas and Mindanao. Today, it operates plants in Labongon, Mandaue City, Pangdan in Naga City Cebu and Toledo City in western Cebu. Its fleet has the strength of 25 brand-new transit mixers, two stationary line pumps, and two concrete mobile pumps.
Suprea also has 18 portable batching plants in Mindanao, strategically placed in various locations in Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, and Misamis Oriental.
The opening of Compostela plant will allow the company to supply ready-mixed concrete to major government and commercial projects across Cebu province, disclosed Suprea chief operating officer (COO) Johnson C. Abellana.
Suprea assistant vice president Ray Patrick H. Manigsaca said the company aims to be instrumental to the government’s serious stance in nation building.
