Airline records high domestic bookings

CEBU, Philippines —  AirAsia Philippines confirms high domestic seat bookings coming into the second quarter of 2022 vis-a-vis election season, indicating an increase in interzonal mobility across the nation.

The low-cost airline has booked a total of 63,524 seats in the seven days leading to May 09 and 50,284 seats in the week that ensues.

The demand for air transport is indeed increasing and AirAsia Philippines is keen on supporting this demand and the right of Filipinos to suffrage, said AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson and Head of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan.

Effective until May 01, the “Buy 1 Take 1 Para sa PILI-Pinas,” promo of AirAsia is geared at encouraging more Filipinos to participate in this year’s national elections. Guests can fly in pairs for the price of one from and to Manila, Clark, Cebu, and any AirAsia domestic destination.

The promo is complemented by low base fares, which start from as low as Php 188, Dailisan added.

The booking period for AirAsia’s Buy 1 Take 1 Para sa PILI-Pinas promo is from April 25 to May 1,  2022, while the travel period is from April 25 to September 30, 2022. Prior to this promo, AirAsia also launched its Fly Home to Vote promo which was also intended to stir voter mobility and turnout come election day.

We highly encourage every Filipino to exercise their right to vote. AirAsia Philippines has also observed an uptick in bookings to metro cities Cebu, Davao and Manila in the seven days following election day. It can be assumed that a portion of these is voters returning to their place of residence subsequent to casting their votes in their respective precincts.
