CEBU, Philippines —  The Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) launched the Cebu Business Month (CBM 2021), a different business event, which blends physical and digital meetings for the entire year.

Formally launched yesterday at the Marco Polo Plaza Cebu, CBM 2021, the major business event in Cebu, is towering the theme “Rise Forward” urging businesses from all sectors to work together in rising forward in the middle of the pandemic.

“As we stand up, collect our wits, move forward, to soldier on and rise even higher than before, the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry on its 25th year of CBM wants to showcase a path to success that Cebuano Entrepreneurs are able to re-invent, innovate, sustain, empower,” said CBM 2021 chairman Mike Cubos.

Still focusing on Cebu’s major industries like tourism, ICT/BPM (Information Communication Technology/ Business Process Management), Creative sector, and entrepreneurship, this year celebrations marks the shift of CBM’s new normal such as the introduction of CBM app, that will be given to registered participants to connect, chat and even do business-to-business conservation digitally, said Cubos.

CBM 2021 virtual activities will kick off with a Tourism Coffee Table discussion on June 3 and Tourism Summit on the 24th.

An entrepreneurship coffee table discussion will also be held on July 29, 2021, followed by a series of idea and consultation sessions. The Entrepreneurship Summit is set on July 28, 2021.

The ICT/BPM Summit, which aims to address the pressing concerns under the largely work-from-home environment, will  hold its ICT/BPM Summit on August 26, 2021.

A series of events are also bring set for the Creative industry in Cebu, which is considered as the Cebu’s “sleeping giant” in terms of economic contribution.

CCCI president Felix Taguiam said the chamber has resolved to bring about proactive move in fighting the pandemic, at the same time “living with COVID.”

Bringing the first time experiences it endured last year in celebrating CBM 2020 at the height of COVID-19 attack, Cubos and Taguiam are crossing finger to make another successful new normal CBM  celebration and help Cebu making a difference—economically.
