CEBU, Philippines —  The shift of life and working lifestyle brought about by the pandemic has prompted the organizing committee of Cebu Business Month (CBM) to make the celebration a year-round celebration.

CBM 2021 chairman Michael Cubos said that this year’s celebration will take a shift for the first time.

“Because of the pandemic we are changing our overall approach and spread the CBM events the whole year round,” said Cubos.

After CBM 2021 will be officially launched this coming May 2021, events will be scheduled per month or bi-monthly, eradicating the traditional exhibits and big conventions, now everything will be held online.

Events and conferences will be focused on businesses’ resiliency, innovation and preparation for recovery, he explained.

“We are still following through the ‘Bring It On’ theme we had in 2020. Bu the thrust this year is more on moving forward after the ‘pandemic crash,’” added Cubos.

The 2021 CBM will be celebrated from June 2021 to June 2022, he reiterated.

The CBM organizing team led by Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) is still finalizing the year-round events.

The traditional four industry pillars—Entrepreneurship; IT/BPM, Tourism and Creative sector remain to be the focused of this year’s CBM.

The main goal now is to empower businesses that are now suffering from the brunt of the pandemic, he revealed.

Cubos added that a lot of industries (if not all) are undergoing transformation, the CBM events hope to help company owners and decision makers to pivot and adapt the shift instantly, as technology takes the center stage in the new normal.
