Crash course in milk tea vending in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines — Supporting the market’s appetite for milk tea, a Taiwan-based milk tea ingredients distributor is helping Cebuanos to start off business in milk tea vending.
Pro Possmei International Corporation, a subsidiary of Profood International Corporation, will soon introduce a crash course or extensive training for professional milk tea making, to help individuals who may want to start a business in milk tea.
Managing director Jose Ho Jr., announced in a press conference that while drinking milk tea has passed the impression of being a “fad drink”, the Filipino market’s strong interest especially the younger consumers should be capitalized as this is seen to open up good business opportunities for Filipinos.
In the past, those who are already into milk tea business, had to import their ingredients particularly from Taiwan.
While the training center has already started in Manila, Ho said the company will bring it to Cebu in the next few months.
Apart from starting off a milk-tea business, existing restaurants or food and beverage facilities in hotels and resorts will have an opportunity to offer the best milk tea with lesser cost.

“We want Cebuanos to know that they can purchase milk tea ingredients here and much cheaper than ordering abroad,” added Ho.

Training costs range from P20,000 to P45,000 packages, including raw materials enough to start a small milk tea stall.
