Rising condo lifestyle boosts demand for cleaning services

CEBU, Philippines — The rise of condo living, fast-paced lifestyle and Airbnb hosting in Cebu prompted Cebu’s strong demand for outsourced house cleaning services.

Cleanmate Solutions Inc., chief executive officer (CEO) Azela Honor said what primarily drives the company’s growth is the rising ownership of condominium units either used for rental, Airbnb or for owners’ residence.

The company, which is a subsidiary of all-in-one real estate solutions provider Filipino Homes, was primarily created to support the after-sales need of buyers, noted an expansion of clientele profile, including those that are living in condos, condo rentees, Airbnb unit owners, as well as home owners in high subdivisions.

Launched only last March, the company has over 20 accredited cleaners servicing living spaces. Service rates vary depending on the measure (per square meter) of the property.

According to Honor, the company has invested high-end cleaning solution agents, cleaning equipment like HyLa and Rainbow vacuum brands to meet the high-standard requirement of today’s sophisticated customers.

Aside from homes, condominiums, apartments, Honor said demand for outsource cleaning service already extends to industrial companies, and offices.

Honor, who also leads a team of real estate agents, added that because most of the condominium units are bought for the reason of investment, condo owners usually employ agents and brokers to maintain their units.

“Most of our buyers or at least 70 percent of them are working or living abroad or not from Cebu, usually they asked us [agents/brokers] to find people to clean their units. The demand is strong now,” she said in an interview.

Soon, the company will open branches in Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Davao.

Just like in highly-developed countries like United States and Europe, outsourced household services like cleaning is also becoming a trend in the Philippines now, she added. (FREEMAN)
