Local coffee shop chain veers away from normal
CEBU, Philippines - Homegrown coffee shop chain Coffee Dream is gearing towards serving the growing health conscious consumers by serving healthy options in its outlets nationwide.
Starting off with its outlet in Park Mall in Mandaue City, the coffee shop will soon introduce Coffee Dream Plus in all of its 41 outlets across the country, said the company president Glenn Anthony Soco.
"We are gearing towards serving products that support the growing healthy and active lifestyle. The market behavior has changed and we have to adapt to it," said Soco.
Aside from healthy drinks and food options, the ambiance of Coffee Dream Plus will be hip, playful and interactive coffee lounge.
Coffee Dream Plus offers not only its signature coffee drinks, but also healthy drinks and smoothies as well as healthier sandwiches.
Soco's coffee shop chain is one of the local coffee shop brands in the Philippines, which officially announced its adaption of the healthy drink options, although some have already started to offer non-coffee based products and fruit or vegetable juices.
"We are breaking out from conventional coffee shop concept," Soco emphasized.
Recently, the London-based market research service provider Mintel, in its newly released "2017 Global Food & Drink Trends," predicts that in the coming year, consumers will increasingly look for products that are healthy, convenient, and trustworthy.
Coffee Dream has tapped a nutritionist based in Manila for the chain's healthy section.
Simultaneously, a campaign called "My Dream My Coffee" will also be launched upon the formal introduction of Coffee Dream Plus concept to the market.
Converting some of these outlets to Coffee Dream Plus, will still undergo market studies as not all markets have lucrative environment for this kind of concept, some are still not as mature as Cebu. (FREEMAN)
