Biggest upscale supermarket opens in Cebu

CEBU, Philippines - Robinsons Supermarket Corporation opened its biggest premium grocery brand Robinsons Selection in Cebu yesterday.

The 4,000 square meters upscale grocery store, opened simultaneously with the official commercial opening of the six-storey Robinsons Galleria Cebu.

The new store, located on the ground floor of Robinsons Galleria Mall, caters primarily to the modern-minded consumers looking for wider, variety, sophistication and fresh store ambiance.

"Opening this upscale supermarket in Cebu is our way of acknowledging the continuous progress of the City and the growing sophistication among Cebuano shoppers," said Jody Gadia, Robinsons Supermarket general manager.

The Cebu Robinsons Selections is the third high end grocery store under the Selections brand, opened by the company since its launching last year.

Robinsons Selections offers a wide array of fresh and healthy food offerings, from imported brands to unique local finds.

It is also emphasizing its largest choices of health and wellness section, including a convenient food-to-go section, a refreshing fruit bar and sushi bar.

Robinsons Supermarket has three grocery brands: Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Selections and the neighborhood convenience store set up EasyMart.

Robinsons Supermarket Corporation is one of the largest supermarket chains under the Robinsons Retail Holldings Inc. Its first branch Robinsons Supermarket Cebu Fuente, opened in 1985.

Today, it has 120 branches across the Philippines. Robinsons Supermarket belongs to the Robinsons Retail group along with Robinsons Department Store, Handyman Do It Best Center, Robinsons Appliances, Top Shop, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Toys R Us, and True Value.

The Cebuano tycoon-Gokongwei-led grocery chain seeks to educate and empower its customers on their choice of foods and products to promote healthy living and proper nutrition.
