Robinsons Galleria to open December 10
CEBU, Philippines – Over 100 retail outlets will open at the Robinsons Galleria Cebu simultaneous with the shopping mall’s commercial opening on December 10.
Robinsons Galleria Cebu is the second largest mall built by Robinsons Land Inc., (RLI), the real estate arm of JG Summit, after it opened Robinsons Galleria Manila 25 years ago.
The six-storey Robinsons Galleria Cebu promises to house more homegrown regional brands, and food outlets, said Ma. Cristina Angan, the company’s senior consultant for leasing and marketing in a press preview yesterday.
Although the mall brings in the usual national and foreign brands, Angan said Robinson’s Galleria so far is the first mall in Cebu to host the artisan and emerging (food) brands in the region, such as Abaca Baking Co., Phat Pho, The Luncheonette, The Chocolate Chamber, Azabu, Fat Cow Burgers & Malts, Pueblo’s Totopos Mexican Street Food, Bohol Bee Farm, and SansRival Cakes & Pastries from Dumaguete, among others.
In the next few months the mall will invite other homegrown brands from Visayas and Mindanao, Angan said.
The Robinsons Galleria Cebu, is the 41st shopping mall of Gokongwei-led JG Summit Inc. and the first full service mall opened by RLI outside Manila. It is dubbed as the country’s first garden mall with green architecture design.
The mall with 157,000 square-meters gross leasable area is also positioned as a holistic lifestyle destination, with facilities, amenities and support services geared to suit the different preferences of every family member.
“It’s not your triple A mall. It’s not pretentious,” said Angan adding that Robinsons Galleria Cebu provides the flavor for everyone to feel comfortable being there.
Fashion specialty brands like Topship, Dorothy Perkins, Burton Menswear, G2000 and Shana, are among the 100 tenants that will be opening on December 10.
The entire mall can accommodate over 200 tenants. The other half will be opening in the next few months, said May Vega, Robinsons mall regional marketing manager.
It will also have six cinemas, including two 3D theaters, with a total seating capacity of 1,774. Of these, cinemas 1 and 6 have been designated as VIP cinemas and each will be equipped with a wide screen, wide chairs and Atmos surround sound systems.
In an earlier interview with RLI president Frederick Go, he said that the company has invested on providing extra focus on green infrastructure within and outside of the new shopping destination.
RLI is also the developer of Robinsons Place in Fuente Osmeña, as well as the Cybergate office and commercial building nearby. (FREEMAN)
