French investor opens first clay spa in Cebu
CEBU, Philippines - Noting the good market for beauty and wellness in the Philippines, specifically Cebu, a French investor has introduced the first clay spa in Cebu.
Remy Prohom, who used to work for the World Health Organization, sees a big potential for beauty and wellness in the country and picked Cebu as his gateway to introduce the well-known French clay, through the opening of beauty and therapeutic spa called "Beautè d' Argile," in partnership with a local investor.
Prohom, who was assigned in the Philippines after super-typhoon Yolanda hit most parts of the Visayas, decided to stay in Cebu and seize the big opportunity for business in beauty and wellness.
So far, Beautè d' Argile, located at One Paseo Saturnino, Maria Luisa Road, is the fist French clay spa in the Philippines, Prohom claimed.
"The skin care market in the Philippines is very big. But, these products that are widely available are using a lot of chemicals," Prohom said adding that the introduction of French clay skin care products using the trusted brand in France--Argiletz will provide a sensible and none damaging beauty product choice for Filipinos.
Aside from establishing a French Spa facility, Prohom is also working on partnering with local dermatologists and local distributors for Argiletz French clay products and clay powder.
Clays’ detoxifying properties are explained by two key factors; It’s absorptive capacity is very high so it draws toxins out of the body effectively, and its negative cumulative ionic charge which helps to attract and bind positively charged waste and eliminate it out of the body.
Clay acts like a sponge, attracting water and toxins not only to its negatively charged surface, but also inside the numerous canals in its crystalline structure.
Clay is a natural healer and acts softly but deeply on the body. It is a powerful natural medicine, it removes chemicals, toxins and pollutants from the body and traps them.
Although, Prohom's spa facility is using French products, prices of products and services are designed to suit the local market, from P700 to P2,000 depending on the kind of service and treatment for hands, feet and face. — Ehda M. Dagooc (FREEMAN)
