CEBU, Philippines - While the food service industry in Cebu is very competitive given the increasing number of restaurants in malls, business centers and other places, a Cebu-based chef entrepreneur believes maintaining the quality of food and service is what matters most to stand out among other restaurants.
Freestyle menu is making a trademark in Cebu as it offers and showcases a wide variety of international cuisines and, of course, Filipino dishes, said Constantine Tanchan, the chief executive officer (CEO) and owner of Flavors By Tanny during the formal opening last Saturday at Parkmall in Mandaue City.
While it is the first Flavors By Tanny of Choobi Choobi Flavors Corporation (CCFC), Tanchan or Chef Tanny is confident people will love its food choices as these are his personal favorites from among various cuisines ranging from Chinese, Vietnamese, Thai, Italian and western dishes.
“I go around the world, choose the best foods and bring it here. It’s a passion thing,†shared Tanchan, who also owns Choobi Choobi (Filipino) restaurant which is located just above Flavors.
He also added that the restaurant wants to give Cebuanos an upscale family dining made affordable saying, “international dishes nga mahal sa ubang restaurants, you can try it here.â€
He said consistency of the flavors of the dishes is very crucial for a restaurant business to retain loyal patrons.
That’s why, he said, he personally works with the chefs to come up with a unique menu that he likes to eat.
Meanwhile, Tanchan said he is eyeing to open his first two Sugbaholics grill, a restaurant that serves grilled foods and another branch of Choobi Choobi restaurant in Ayala this year.
What is certain for now, he added, is the Sugbaholics grill to be built somewhere in Capitol Site this April..
He is also planning to open a branch of his restaurant in Manila next year. The company is open for franchising but will still focus on improving its system and operation, he added.
