ICCP Group helps fishermen in Hilantagaan

CEBU, Philippines - A total of 51 fishermen in the islet of Hilantagaan in Sta. Fe, Bantayan were able to restore their fishing boats as the ICCP Group prioritized in getting their livelihood up.

The fishermen, who have either partially or totally damaged pump boats, were provided repair materials such as marine plywoods, kasko, sealants, lumber, outriggers, copper nails and paints.

Edwin Manzanares, 42 years old and a beneficiary of the project said “Mapasalamaton kaayo  mi sa ICCP Group nga ilang giuna pagtabang nga mabalik among panginabuhian diri sa isla. Paet kaayo kung dili mi makabalik sa panagat human sa bagyo, wala mi mapakaon sa among pamilya."

The ICCP Group, which owns Cebu Light Industrial Park and Pueblo de Oro Development Corporation which are doing business in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu adopted Hilantagaan islet and has been initiating relief and rehabilitation efforts in the area right after supertyphoon Yolanda.

Mr. Ricky Osmond, ICCP Group Foundation President, disclosed that the company has rehabilitation projects lined up for Hilantagaan. Apart from augmenting the income of the mothers in the islet by providing vegetable seeds for their backyard gardening project, ICCP Group will also restore roofs of the islet's  elementary and high schools.
