Filipino construction tools firm unites with Swedish eng'g group
CEBU, Philippines - Inframachineries, a leading Filipino provider of construction tools and equipment, has recently inked partnership with Swedish engineering group Sandvik to be the latter’s exclusive distributor of mobile crushers.
The deal was recently announced during the third and final leg of PhilConstruct 2013 seriers that was held last November 6 to 9.
Sandvik business line manager Eamonn Hurson shared that the company decided to launch its line of crushers in the Philippines in response to growing market opportunities.
“It’s the potential that we see. It’s not the size of the existing market, but the size of the opportunity. We wanted to show the process of technology we can bring to the Philippines,†he said in a statement.
Sandvik, one of the leading providers of construction solutions, is a high-technology engineering group known for its advanced products. It offers a range of mobile crushers for quarrying, recycling, and contracting applications. These machines are compact, stable, and lightweight, which helps speed up the construction process.
In the second quarter of 2013, the National Statistics Office reported a total of 29 424 construction projects based on approved building permits in the country.
Residential and non-residential projects generated P32.60 billion and P28.50 billion, respectively. Last year, around 121 051 new construction projects from approved building permits were recorded. It posted an increase of 7.2 percent compared with 112 881 construction projects in 2011.
If Philippine Constructors Association, Inc. (PCA) executive director Manolito Madrasto were to be asked, he said that the industry is expected grow by double digits in 2014.
Eugene Lyons, Sandvik director of sales and marketing, said that their partnership with Inframachineries supports their intention to have a strong local representation in the Philippines that could lead towards technical advantages to the construction industry in the country.
He further highlighted the company’s approach to product development in line to environmental impact such as using recycle materials for their equipment instead of using virgin material.
Inframachineries President Eduardo Trinidad noted that the company aims to support the booming construction sector in the country by “making the right insight and most advanced equipment available.â€
