Sun Broadband helps boost Internet penetration with easy, affordable offers

CEBU, Philippines - More Filipinos can now have access to the wealth of information and opportunities provided by the Internet as wireless provider Sun Cellular brings easy and affordable broadband services into the hands of more users, thanks to its recently expanded mobile broadband coverage that now covers almost the entire Philippines.

According to estimates from the United Nations agency International Telecommunications Union (ITU) in its recent World Telecommunication/ICT Indicators Database (WTID), 36% of the Philippine population already use the Internet as of end-2012, constituting a more than six-fold increase from figures recorded more than a decade ago.

To bring quality broadband connection to the rest of the population, Sun Broadband recently doubled its broadband coverage to cover more areas in the country, including the likes of Maguindanao, Bukidnon and Lanao del Sur in Mindanao; Samar and Masbate in the Visayas; and Abra, Ilocos Sur, and Kalinga in Luzon.

Sun Broadband has also made it easier for Filipinos to get connected to the Internet through its innovative Easy Broadband 799 plan, which offers unlimited broadband connection without a holding period and requires only a valid ID upon application.

Aside from this, Sun Broadband also offers one of the most affordable Internet plans in the country today through consumable plans such as Power Plan 250 and Power Plan 450 that offer a very affordable surfing rate of just P1.47 per 15 minutes.

Power Plan 250 comes with 10 bonus hours of Internet time, which means it can give users as much as 52 broadband hours every month, while Power Plan 450—with its 25 bonus hours—offers as much as 101 surfing hours on a monthly basis.

These offers can be further enhanced by applying load “boosters” that extend the value of the consumable amount. Subscribers can avail, for example, of Weekend Booster 75 which will give them an entire weekend of unlimited Internet, or use the amount to subscribe to the SBW 250 load to get an entire week of consistent, fast, and reliable unlimited broadband connection.
