Globe Telecom strengthens global presence

CEBU, Philippines - Globe Telecom further strengthens its presence in the global market with the establishment of an operating company in the United Kingdom and the renewed collaboration of Globe Business with the business process outsourcing giant Sutherland Global Services.

Aiming to reach more Filipinos around the world, Globe plans to expand its footprint through UK Globetel Limited, a member of the Globe group of companies, that was recently launched to handle the offering of various telecommunications services in United Kingdom.

Filipinos residing in and visiting the United Kingdom could now avail of services such as voice, SMS, MMS, load top-up and mobile data that will be offered by UK Globetel.

Globe International Business Group head Rizza Maniego-Eala said that the telecommunications company is geared towards constantly finding innovations and value-for-money offerings that will allow Filipinos to constantly keep in touch and keep their ties stronger with their loved ones. 

The company has also unveiled new services such as Globe Local UK SIM which is the flagship product that will serve domestic UK mobile telecommunication requirements of Filipinos in UK while providing affordable rates for calls and text messages to their families and friends in the Philippines and Globe DUO UK, a calling service that assigns a virtual UK number to a registered Globe Prepaid, Postpaid and TM mobile number in the Philippines. 

Meanwhile, US-based Sutherland Global Services recently confirmed its re-established ties with the corporate and ICT arm of Globe, entrusting the company’s connectivity requirements to Globe Business as the major provider of internet services where most of its applications are routed.

Globe Business shall continue to serve as the former’s primary Philippine provider for both wired and wireless connectivity services and co-location on the telecommunications company’s world-class and state-of-the-art MK2 data center.

It has been a partnership built around mutual business confidence and technological reliability since the BPO’s first day of Philippine operations in 2005.

According to Sutherland country manager AJ Enriquez, Globe Business continues to assure Sutherland with seamless connectivity which is the latter’s thrust to its clientele.

The company further lauded the account servicing of Globe Business, its expertise, competence and transparency in the industry “That for us is important as we are also in the trade of communications. Needless to say, we are very satisfied. Because of its service reliability, the only logical choice for Sutherland is Globe Business,” Enriquez said in a statement.

Newly-installed head of Globe Business Enterprise Group Nikko Acosta said that the strengthened partnership with Sutherland re-affirms the unique positioning of Globe Business in the information technology industry particularly in terms of its relationship and rapport with its clients.
