CEBA lines up activities for Cebu Food Expo 2013
CEBU, Philippines - In celebration of the Cebu Food Expo 2013, the Cebu Bakery Association (CEBA) will organize two seminars on microfinance and healthy cooking with soya that are set on July 25 and 26 at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino.
The association of bakery owners in Cebu intends to increase the level of awareness on various topics that concern various stakeholders, thus organizing seminars and fora during the annual celebration of the food exposition in Cebu.
This year’s Cebu Food Expo 2013 will run from July 25 to 27. The seminars organized by CEBA will be both held at the Gallery of the Pacific Grand Ballroom.
There will be a seminar on microfinancing and microinsurance on July 25 from 2 to 4:45 PM.
Topics that will be discussed include financing for small business enterprises by Elsie Tagupa of Landbank, retail lending program by Frank Buenavides of Small Business Guarantee and Finance Corporation and cooperative finance and microinsurance by Antonio Ventura of Guadalupe Cooperative.
On July 26, on the other hand, a seminar that is dubbed as “Health Wonders of Soya: Cooking Healthy with Soya†will be held from 3 to 5:45 PM.
Resource speakers include Grace Gallarde of Grace Homemade Health and Wellness Foodies who will talk about added profit to the food business and Chef Lalita Araneta of La Veggie Café who will conduct an authentic vegan demonstration on soya protein.
CEBA further encourages entrepreneurs, small and medium business enterprises, food and hospitality professionals, and foodies to participate in the seminars. The association expects to gather around 70 to 80 attendees for each seminar.
CEBA has 70 active members in Cebu City.
Cebu Food Expo shall serve as a one-stop shop for food processing and packaging machines, materials, systems and products. It shall also feature a complete food technology show that is designed for bakers, restaurants, snacks and sweet manufacturing and other players in the food industry.
Exhibitors of this year’s food expo will include industry players from food and beverages, baked products, canned goods and beverages, coffee and tea, confectionery products, dairy products, flavors and compounds, baking equipment, cake production equipment, confectionery equipment, bag-making machine, bottle handling system, bundling machine, conveyors, catering systems, digital printing facilities and entertainment systems. /JOB (FREEMAN)
