Cebu mega trade event set next week

CEBU, Philippines - A convergence of industries such as manufacturing, packaging, printing, plastics, furniture, tourism and travel sectors shall take place during a three-day mega trade event next week to be held at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel.

Global-Link MP Events International, Inc. (GLMP) gathered industry stakeholders for the launching of the two large trade exhibits in Cebu this year. The Manufacturing Technology Cebu back-to-back with PACKPRINT PLAS CEBU will be held with Packprint Plas Cebu, scheduled from July 25 to 27.

This will be simultaneously held with the Great Furniture Sale organized by the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc. (CFIF) and the 4th Cebu International Travel Expo (CITE) in partnership with the Cebu Association of Tour Operators (CATO) and the Cebu Tours and Travel Association (CTTA).

GLMP chief executive officer Patrick Lawrence Tan said that the trade event will be the ideal venue for companies to discover new markets, learn the latest technologies and create better brand awareness.

He added that it is high time to showcase the industries that make up the central trading hub for Visayas and the major contributor to the region’s vibrant economic growth.

“Our trade show is about highlighting these innate strengths of Cebu and taking these sectors to the next level. We are bringing together the who’s who of the business in one venue and make them aware of the latest developments in each of the participating sectors, each of which is very vital in creating a globally competitive business industry.,” Tan said, describing Cebu as one of the fastest-growing cities in the country.

The Cebu mega trade event is the Visayas leg of the national series that will also be held in Manila and Davao.

This year’s Manufacturing Technology Cebu is considered to be the largest industrial machinery, technologies and product exhibition in Cebu.  It will incorporate the regional agri-aqua business and equipment exposition, industrial machinery and hardware product exhibition and the water technology exhibition and conference.

The Packprint Plas Cebu 2013 will serve as the biggest convergence of markets and industries as it will integrate expositions from various sectors such as the printing and technology and services, plastics and packaging solutions, business solutions and office automation and food, beverages and hospitality.  /JMD (FREEMAN)
