HomiLee breaks ground on Ebiza model house

CEBU, Philippines - As the official contractor of the newly-rebranded Maria Luisa North-The Heritage, HomiLee, Incorporated conducted its groundbreaking ceremony of the pre-designed model house yesterday.

HomiLee's latest project from the joint venture agreement with Maria Luisa Properties is "The Heritage", an exclusive 13.6-hectare gated community in Jagobiao, Mandaue City. It is composed of 242 lots with lot cut options ranging from 250 to 500 square meters.

Although the newest posh residential project offers pre-designed house and lot packages, HomiLee founder Zaida Lee said in an interview that the company continues its commitment to serve the buyers' need for custom-made home construction.

Lee cited that the company offers pre-designed models called The Residences by Homilee at The Heritage which features modern Asian living.

These models namely Ebiza, Natasha, Jennifer and Keaton are specifically designed by HomiLee for the premier development of Maria Luisa Properties.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the model unit held yesterday was for the Ebiza model, a two-storey, medium-sized and three-bedroom house and lot package that measures 180 square meters in terms of floor area.

Ebiza, as Lee described, visually represents the neutral pre-designed model, among others.

A tipping point

Lee shared that the ceremony is considered to be a milestone for the company since a model unit of a certain residential development, once completed, could be the basis of prospective clients to invest in the project.

"Completing this model unit will serve as a catalyst for the project, a tipping point. This will create a momentum for us since it will attract further buyers who want to build their dream homes," she said.

The Ebiza model unit is targeted to be constructed within six to eight months and will be available for viewing nine months from now.

To date, the first phase of The Heritage is 30 percent sold with a mixed buyers' profile of locals and foreigners.

However, although the Ebiza model unit will serve as the basis of the rest of the residential houses at The Heritage, Lee clarified that homeowners can still opt to customize their houses in accordance with their needs and preferences so long as it is consistent with the building regulations set by the developer.

"We are not restricting the market. We are still open and flexible to what they want and need," she continued.

Commitment, punctuality

Currently, HomiLee works with Vergara and Vergara Architects as the official partner architect for The Heritage project.

Lee said that the architectural firm, headed by Valentino Vegara, is known for its punctuality in delivering the units to the homeowners.

"For 15 years in the industry, we have made sure to satisfy our clients with our commitment and punctuality backed up with our professional expertise in the field of architecture," Vergara said.

The Heritage is the fourth project of Vergara and Vergara Architects and its first project with the Maria Luisa Properties.

He said that they also support the vision of HomiLee and Maria Luisa Properties towards providing the Cebu market with custom-designed and tailor-made residences.

"Instead of giving the client finished products, the buyer could just give us their budget and we'll work on it. We'll get things done on time," he stated.

Meanwhile, HomiLee is also working on an 80-million project development that sits in a 2,500-square meter property in Amara Subdivision in Liloan that will be officially launched in August. /JMD (FREEMAN)
