17 finalists from CV compete in search for Phl’s top studes

CEBU, Philippines - Seventeen student finalists from the different universities and colleges in Region 7 will vie for this year’s Ten Outstanding Students of the Philippines (TOSP).

According to the TOSP-Central the finalists will represent their respective schools to the TOSP search during its Formation Week on May 15 to 19 in Tagbilaran City, Bohol.

The formation week will compose a series of interviews and activities as part of the evaluation of the deserving students.

TOSP finalists include Cherry Mae Gumapac of Silliman University taking up Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs; Eduard Joseph Narciso with Bachelor of Business Administration Major in Management Marketing from St. Paul University - Dumaguete; Jenith Brene Corpis, Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Negros Oriental State University Main Campus; Von Jovi, Bachelor of Science in Architecture and Robbie Austen Vailoces, Bachelor of Science in Information Technology both from Foundation University.

Jerald Ambe, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, University of San Jose-Recoletos; Maximo Limbaga Jr., Bachelor of Science in Accountancy, University of Bohol; Raymart Aurora, Bachelor of Science in Electronics Engineering of the University of San Carlos; Stephen Bryan Bongcaras taking up Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Holy Name University.

Completing the 17 students are Jhanika Rafelle Almazan, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication Major in Media Communication of Saint Theresa’s College; Sonny Boquecosa, Bachelor of Arts in Political Science Major in Law and Policy Studies, University of San Carlos; Elinore Jean Malagar, Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts and Commerce Majors in Communication and Marketing, University of San Jose-Recoletos; and Sean Timothy Salvador, Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication from the University of the Philippines-Cebu College.

The TOSP is an annual search which recognizes the best and the brightest students in the provinces of Region VII who have excelled in academics, leadership, and social responsibility.

The top 17 regional finalists were chosen by a pool of screeners coming from various fields of specialization. (FREEMAN)
