CEBU, Philippines - Luminance Incorporated, a lighting solutions provider based in Cebu City, powers up the wonderful façade lighting design for Mandaue City’s Presidencia on its 75th Anniversary Celebration on Wednesday, September 12.
The Presidencia is Mandaue City’s Municipal Hall. Its construction started on 1935, and the building was inaugurated on September 12, 1937 during the incumbency of then Cebu Governor, Sotero B. Cabahug. During the Second World War, Presidencia was used as a garrison by the Japanese Imperial Forces. After the war, two additional wings and a second floor were added on either side of the original building. On March 19, 1975, the building was inaugurated as the new Mandaue City Hall.
The September 12 celebration marked the Presidencia’s 75th year of existence. The event started off with a fashion show, a retrospective “walk” through the decades witnessed by the Mandaue Presidencia. The event also featured the launching of “Mandaue, Our home, Our pride, Our future,” a coffee table book showcasing Mandaue City’s rich history, culture, and its booming industry.
One of the highlights of the event was the ceremonial lighting for Mandaue Presidencia. City Mayor Jonas Cortes, together with Vice Mayor Glenn Bercede, and other local government officials pressed the ceremonial lighting “switch“ that lit up the Mandaue Presidencia in a dazzling display of colored lights designed by Luminance Lighting Solutions to showcase the beauty of this heritage site.
“The Presidencia is an important cultural heritage to the Mandauehanons,” said Mr. Victor Caindec, President and COO of Luminance Lighting Solutions. “We are proud to be a part of this landmark event.”
Luminance Lighting Solutions used state of the art lighting technology in their lighting design for the Mandaue Presidencia; utilizing color-changing LED uplights, and color-changing moving-ahead LED lights, among others, to give the Presidencia that distinct look befitting its historical and political heritage.
