CEBU, Philippines - After recently opening its 200th branch in its 60 years in the industry, Rose Pharmacy, Inc. remains to be aggressive in its branch expansion program, targeting to have a total of 300 branches nationwide by 2015.
Celebrating its diamond anniversary, one of the country’s leading pharmaceutical retail chains inaugurated its 200th branch located at Express Inn Bldg., Juan Luna Ave., M.J. Cuenco, Mabolo, Cebu last Monday.
Rose Pharmacy, Inc. Business Development Officer Benjamin Lim said that the public could anticipate more branches to come by yearend.
At present, Rose Pharmacy, Inc. has a national network of 200 branches, contributing its fair share in the growth of the economy through job generation and retail sales.
Lim cited that there are 30 branches in Metro Manila and CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon) area while 170 branches are situated in the Visayas and Mindanao regions of which in Cebu alone, the company has more than 64 branches.
He added that the company is not much affected with the competition in the industry since they have their own market niche.
As one of the market leaders in the industry, he noted that Rose Pharmacy Inc. is committed to carry reliable medical supplies and equipment that cater to the needs of all market segments.
“We will continue serving the Filipinos for the many years to come, assuring them genuine medicines at affordable prices for the people’s health. We had never sold a single fake product,” he stated.
Aside from its strategic expansion of its drug store chains, he added that the advancement of its subsidiary companies such as Berovan Marketing, Inc., New Trading Enterprises, Inc., Roz Laboratory, Salon de Rose, Inc., BRG Realty Corporation and Pyroworks, Inc. provides the company an added competitive edge.
Owned and operated by Benjamin and Rosario Lim, Rose Pharmacy started in 1952 as a small family-type drugstore in Martires Street which was then relocated at P. del Rosario Street corner Junquera St. in 1954.
Within the next decade, other branches within Cebu City, notably along Colon St., Magallanes St., Progreso St., Osmeña Boulevard, Juan Luna St., Junquera St., Jakosalem St. and Legaspi St., were also opened.
Rose Pharmacy was incorporated on December 13, 1974.
In 1976, its first branch outside Cebu was established in Davao City and since then, Rose Pharmacy expanded its branch network covering key cities in Visayas, Mindanao, Metro Manila, CALABARZON and Bicol region.
