Businesses urged to use IP telephony

CEBU, Philippines - Instead of sticking to the analog phones, companies are encouraged to use Internet Protocol (IP) communication to enhance business flow and save recurring expenditure.

AS1 Techventures Inc. Sales and Marketing Manager Richard Saulo urged businessmen during the Business Telephony System Update 2012 – Cebu last July 31 at Harolds Hotel to use IP technology phones rather than the traditional ones.

Primarily useful for business purposes, he said that such technology utilizes the IP suite to transmit data with an existing network infrastructure and computer cable.

He added that it has the enhanced version of the features of the analog phones which makes it hassle-free, convenient and cost-saving.

He cited that EZWARE IT Computing Solutions was appointed as the sub-distributor of the products of Yealink, a Chinese brand of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phones and IP communication solutions in the Western market and Yeastar, manufacturer of IP- Private Branch Exchange (PBX) products.  

Meanwhile, EZWARE President Josephus Dy said that IP technology already existed in the business arena but due to prohibitive pricing which can cost P200,000 as the minimum, some businessmen prefer to stay with the analog phones.

The products they offer, he added, are the first low-cost brands in the market which can account P50,000 as the initial investment for the company.

With such technology, he said that establishments save 50% if their existing communication costs as it reduces long distance expenses and utilizes a single network for voice and data.

He noted that they aim to further introduce IP telephony to the Cebu market and educate the public as it provides cost-effectiveness, ease of implementation, convenience and mobility.

He then cited that venturing to IP telephony is vital for the business since communication serves as the connection of the company to its customers.
